Saw the movie tonight with DD, age 14. We both really liked the movie. I read the book years ago but, the storyline seemed to be very close to the book. The casting was very good.

This is a good family movie. Probably for older kids, especially the ones that have read the book. (4th or 5th grade) The little ones in front of us got a little antsy. The movie was about an hour and a half.

Just one question.....Was it sad? I can't stand to cry or when someone dies....it ruins the movie for me. If it has a happy ending.....not happy/sad but really happy and I cry at it then I love it, but if its sad no way!

Same here Beth, I can't take sad movies... at all!! :( So is it a "tear jerker" Betty? :)

My 6th grader wants to see it. Wonder if my 9th grader will think it is babyish?

Since it was like the book, I have mixed feelings. A grandmother dies and yes I cried(most people did not cry) I just cry easily. But the ending is well, do you want the spoiler? (it is just like the book and the saying in the end is something like this: Don't be afraid of death, but be afraid of the unlived life.)

It is bittersweet!

So do you want to know the ending?

Just pm me bfeller and tell me if I will be sad when this film is over. I can't watch movies that leave me sobbing in sadness. Happy tears are a different situation :)

I'm with Katholyn....I love happy tears! But I can't stand endings that are sad....like the way Titanic ended got on my nerves.....they tried to take the sadness out of it by taking her back....it didn't work....keep it either happy or sad!

Tuck Everlasting was a movie I saw on TV back in the mid 1980's. I loved it then, and I'm sure I'd love it now...it's just not something my boys and DH want to see. :( And I'm not one to go to the movies alone....so that means I'll have to see it when it's released on DVD.

One of the main characters, Jonathan Jackson, got his start as a young boy on General Hospital, he played the part of Luke and Laura's son. He's an excellent actor.

I bet my dd would like it....might be something to do tomorrow....thanks for the review Betty!

RoqueC, I plan to tell him you said that! Maybe we can go see this next week. I think it sounds interesting.

I know nothing about this movie but my son wants to see it. Is it ok for a 9 yr old?

Yes, I think a 9 year old would be fine to see the movie. It has romance not any sex.
