Flying from Detroit to MCO...
- Delta flies direct (woo hoo!), but prices are higher than I "hope" to pay and don't include bags.
- SW does not fly direct but is comparable to Delta in price and includes the bags (possibly cheaper with upcoming promos). My kids have never flown before and I'm not thrilled about an extra 1-2 hours of travel time. I would probably only book if I could get a connection that doesn't de-plane.

Thoughts...? We can afford the higher rate, but I'm cheap and the price makes me sour. It's gone up $50+ pp since I started looking and I'm kicking myself. If we take an early evening flight, it's cheaper but I don't want to lose the day. Ugh!

I think you mean non-stop when you say direct. In the airline business there is a difference. Non-stop means the plane leaves DTW and lands at MCO (in this case) whereas a direct flight could mean leaving DTW going to BWI (staying on the same plane) and then to MCO. We normally prefer the non-stop flights because of the time and aggravation.
