TTC thread take 2

So it begins again for me. I guess the one good thing about the BFN is that AF comes shortly after and you start all over again. It helps me get more hopeful that *THIS* cycle will be the good one! :goodvibes I go tomorrow for my CD3 so I'll probably start the shots again tomorrow. We are going to the exact same thing as last month (injectables/IUI). If it doesn't work I think we are going to move on to IVF. Keep everything crossed for me this month (as I know you all always do!)

yeah, that's a good thing!! Good luck, I hope this is IT so you don't have to do IVF...it's such a grueling process!!!

hmm, I wonder if you did pull a muscle there? That's what it sounds like to me too. Or...gallbladder. But I hope not!

I hope it's somehow a pregnancy sign ;)

How are you feeling otherwise??

To answer your question, I'm actually feeling pretty good. I can definitely feel a little bit of pain/soreness in my right ovary today, but other than that I don't really feel horribly bloated or anything. (now I've done it...I'm probably going to be swollen tomorrow now that I've said this. :rotfl:)

I am attributing it to the acupuncture :goodvibes

Also I got the call back, and she is letting me stim one more day. I am taking the 4 vials of menopur tonight, and dropped me down to 75 iu follistim JUST as I suspected. I go back in tomorrow at the same time...then I have acupuncture right after my appointment. I'm glad I scheduled it on Wednesday ahead of time! (normally I go on Thursday afternoons...but the office is right across the street from my RE and I figured I'd have a Wednesday lunchtime appt...I figured right!!)

I am hoping this last acupuncture before trigger will help get the blood really flowing to my eggs and start building my lining some more to get ready for transfer.

It's about 99% certain that my retrieval will be Friday!

I'm SO excited for you!:banana::banana: Hope your monitoring appointment goes well today and you can trigger tonight. :goodvibes

It will be interesting to see what they say about the follies on your right side if you were feeling pain there yesterday. I had the same situation on my left side and suddenly had a lot of growth there at the next appointment. It's awesome that you're not feeling bloated! I'm sure the HCG will cause a bit of that, but it sounds like you're doing really well with the stims! Oh, I forgot to thank you for the triple stripe explanation. My RE's office never mentioned that.

I'm feeling better today. I'm still tender, but nowhere near as bad as yesterday. I relaxed with a heating pad on my side for most of the evening and that really helped. It really seems like a pulled muscle, so hopefully it's just that. I would LOVE if it were pregnancy sign.

I actually took a test yesterday (way early, I know) and it was negative. I'm kicking myself for even taking the test this soon, I know better than that and ended up just messing with my head! For whatever reason, I just have a feeling that it didn't work. I've felt this way since Sunday and can't shake it. I'm trying to stay positive but.......

I'm saying this is something to do with pregnancy! :goodvibes Having never been preg I have no idea what it actually feels like but maybe that's what it is! :goodvibes :woohoo:

Thanks! From your mouth to God's ears! :goodvibes

HSG is ovah!!!!! :cool1:

It was uncomfortable, but not terrible. Felt like I needed to go do #2 really bad.

My tubes are all clear! I have a natural dent in the top of my uterus that the dx said could be smoothed out if I want to. (To increase chance of conception and avoid miscarriage.) He said I could get pregnant though and carry to term even with the dent though and to talk to my RE about it.

My fibroids have shrunk and it all looked good. No reason in his mind why we couldn't start ttc again! :yay:;):lovestruc

Sooo happy!

Gabbie

That's great news Gabbie!

Had my 1st ultrasound for this cycle this morning it's CD12 and I have 3 follicles that look like they will mature this month 13, 13.5 on the right side and 13.5 left side. So measuring about the same as last month but have one more this month. I go back on Saturday for a followup u/s and hopefully I'll be ready to go!

Gabbie I hated that test. It hurt me sooo bad...I hear that it varies, some people don't experience much pain. I  when you said that you felt like you had to go #2...that's one I haven't heard before now.

Glad it's over and you got the all clear!

well I did have a little bit of growth. The biggest 2 really didn't get much bigger (probably a good thing?). But the 11's grew to 12's and 15's, and one of the 10's grew to 12. I'm waiting on the official call....probably triggering tonight.

Hello ladies--just checking in on you all. :)

We're on our third cycle of Clomid this month, but I've got a terrible cold that might be bronchitis. It's CD11, and I need to be better enough to TTC by CD14. Argh! Talk about stress I didn't need. But I can't breathe well enough to even consider TTC right now. Mucinex is my friend, so I'm taking that hoping I can get better in the next couple of days. I would HATE to waste a month of Clomid.

Speaking of the 6 month cap on Clomid, what are my options if it doesn't work? I'm thinking that if we're not pregnant this month (assuming I'm well enough for us to TTC), then I'm going to ask for the RE referral. But if I run out of Clomid tries, are there other options to make me ovulate? I'd really like to try IUI, as IVF is so expensive. But can I do IUI without Clomid?

Sorry to hear that your sick. Good news is mucinex helps some women while TTC with CM. I know that some people take femera or tamoxifen instead of clomid but don't know if it's still 6 months which one you take? I have also heard of women as long as they have mature follicles just using injectibles and trigger shots with no clomid. When you have your initial consult with the RE she/he will be able to tell you which path is right for you whether they want you to to do TI or IUI and then your options after that.

You can definitely do IUI without Clomid, but likely you'll want to be on some other form of meds. After 3 failed Clomid cycles (1 with an IUI) we moved on to injectable meds. We have done 1 cycle on injectables with an IUI and are just starting our second.

I can't remember if your DH had a SA? That may help you/your Dr make a decision if IUI is something you should consider.

Clomid is just one med that most doctors start with because it's cheap. I once heard the comparison that it's like taking an aspirin for a migraine. There are definitely lots of stronger meds that you can take if Clomid does not work for you. However, they are much more expensive than Clomid is.

DITTO!!

I took tamoxifen by the way. It is a much gentler drug than clomid. But honestly I'd go straight for the injectibles. tamoxifen would almost be going backward, kwim?

oh..

TRIGGER TONIGHT AT 8:30. THE RETRIEVAL IS FRIDAY AT 7:30 AM!!!!:banana::banana:

Nervous...excited...gahhh!!

Remember around January when there were tons of BFPs on this board? We are definitely due for another BFP surge!!! I hope that May is going to be a POSITIVE month for all of us! :yay: :grouphug:

I just wanted to check in and say hi and let you al know that I am still thinking of you and wishing for more BFP's soon! I will be crossing my fingers for you on Friday Cherbear :yay:

*Crosses fingers for Cherbear!*

Feel crampy today. Like I got hit in the stomach with a football. lol. :lmao:

Good news though, so I'm happy. Just taking it easy today.

Gabbie

Hi everyone, may I join in?

I had seen threads like this a while ago, but at the time it was not as involved, and not many people had progressed to such treatments as iui or ivf. I'm glad I stumbled in here to see others in the same boat :lovestruc

I'm in another 2ww... had my 4th IUI last Friday. We are going on 6 years of TTC... starting with metformin, working up to clomid, and now a follistim/ovidrel with iui combo. My RE really would prefer IVF, but sadly that is too large an expense for us :(

:yay::welcome: cat!

Hope your stay is short! We're a nice bunch here! :cool1:

I'm Gabbie (short for Gabrielle) and I'm a travel writer, specializing in Disney travel. Yup, it's my job to go to Disney! :cloud9:

My hubby Kenny (he's in my siggy pic there) and I have been ttc-ing for about 2 years and I had an HSG yesterday.

Any advice you need, one of us has been there, done that and can help you. I have made great friends here! :grouphug:

Gabbie

Thanks Gabbie! :cool1:

Wow, what a dream job! I need to find a gig like that

I had an HSG a few years ago too... I was so scared going in because I had read such painful stories, but it wasn't too bad. Just uncomfortable. I hope it wasn't too awful for you either!

Cheri - So excited for your retrieval tomorrow! How are you feeling after the HCG shot? Can't wait to hear how it goes. Praying and hoping everything goes perfectly! :flower3: :cheer2:

Gabbie - Happy to hear your HCG went well. I remember also feeling VERY crampy the following day.

Elisabeth - Sorry you've been sick! Have you spoken to your doc about doing IUI with injectibles? That seems to be an option for most couples.

Cat83 - Welcome to our group! I hope your stay here is very short. The women here are great and very supportive. Glad you found us!

I tested this morning (9 days past 3 day IVF transfer) and it was negative. I know I shouldn't have tested and now I'm totally bummed. :sad2: :guilty:
My blood test is scheduled for Tuesday. I don't seem to be having AF symptoms other than being very weepy. I think that's from the projesterone though. I'm also VERY tired and have trouble staying awake after work. The side pains have pretty much gone away, so I've put that off to a pulled muscle.

My DH seems to think the hormones are doing a real number on me. I'm very depressed and the thought of having to go through this all again in a few months is overwhelming. I'm trying my best to be positive, but can't seem to pull myself out of this.

Sorry for the pitty party....

 don't let it get you down!!! It can take a while for the embryo(s) to latch on and start chuggin' out that hcg!

I'll tell you a story I JUST heard today. A friend of mine online has been telling me about her 38 y/o friend who just did IVF....so I've been following along. 2 days ago she took a hpt. It was negative. Today she had her beta at 14dp3dt. AND she is pregnant!! Her beta is low, but they are going to keep testing to watch it (hopefully) rise.

Fear not, til the beta!!:hug:

Cat...welcome!!! I don't have a lot of time at the moment but I'll officially introduce myself later :goodvibes
