TTC thread take 2

Hey ladies! Christmas was great and it was awesome that we got to surprise my parents! They were shocked to see us on the door step.:goodvibes We came home last night and we were very lucky to get out of NY. I was up at 5 this am to go for my U/S and blood work. Just as I started to write that I was nervous that the nurse hadn't called yet she just did! So I'm to start the estrogen today and lower my lupron shots. :thumbsup2 It's a step foward so I am thankful!:goodvibes

Hope everyone is doing well! :goodvibes

I too an crossing my fingers and hopeful that everyone here gets excellent news and has a wonderful 2011!!!

While i feel like crud, I was so excited to see that finally, after 75 days, AF arrived (with an angry vengeance) this morning.

2011 has to be better than 2010. Today I went for an u/s, and I had a mature follicle but my lining was bad. Therefore this month is essentially over, no trigger shot, and no IUI. :sad2: I really just wish we could catch a break. The nurse said that the doctor will review the case and we will meet with him to come up with a new plan (not quite sure what they do for thin lining, probably med change I assume). And how our Disney trip falls we probably won't be able to do any treatments until February. On the plus side, I;ll be going on all the rides and drinking at Disney. I hope we can use the month off to forget about TTC, de_stress, and hope for a Disney miracle! :)

HUGS so sorry you missed out this month
hoping for some Disney magic :tink:

We got the news I knew was coming but didn't want to hear. Our baby Bear is moving in the next month. The kids are so upset and Ella keeps asking why Bear has to go to Heaven soon :sad1:

Sorry about the news. The only time I had an issue with the lining I was taking clomid, it's never been a problem when taking injectibles. I also took progesterone suppositories even though my levels were fine just to make it extra inviting for implantation.

Have a great time in Disney!

Thanks... I was on Clomid this cycle. I'm sure that when I meet with the Dr we will be moving on from Clomid to something else (I'm guessing injectibles)

Hey girls! Can't believe it's Monday and I'm back at work! So much for vacation considering I was laid up with the flu since Wednesday! Talk about kicken the bejeezus outta me! Shoot! (TMI Alert) AF finally went away, I thought we'd have the opportunity to get lucky NYE and Day, neither day worked for me but Sunday am even though I was snotty I gave it the old college try, worked for him, not so much for me but that's what counts right? :thumbsup2 I was snotty all over the place!:sad2: We thought that on Saturday night I may have had a turn around but nope, no such luck, I was back miserable on Sunday! At least there is hope for today:thumbsup2

So I am a big fan of estradrol considering that AF has gone since i have been on it! Yippee! I am going in again on Wednesday am to have an US to see how my lining is doing. My donor has her test the same day but early in the am. Looks like she is maturing slowly and they have upped her meds which of course makes me VERY nervous:scared:I think that from now until this is over I'm just gonna be nervous. Everytime the phone rings and I see my nurse's name my heart starts to beat a little faster. Cripers! Hopefully by the end of this week we will know more but until then. . . well you know the drill. It's totally like waiting for the proverbial egg to hatch. . . no pun intended. . . for reals!

I did some work on organizing the FE group for our DCL cruise in March so that was good. I'm going to start planning that trip in earnest now! Only 3 more months:cool1: I am hoping to use that as a distraction and also so I don't start making "other" plans. I get so caught up and hate having to reel myself in!:headache:

Hope everyone is well! Hugs to all who need them:hug:

Still cheering for you E!!!:cheer2::cheer2: Hang in there. I'm sure everything will go fine w/ the donor. I know we'll be having that virtual shower soon.

So who would have ever thought Viagra would be a part of my infertility journey?! :lmao:
Since my lining was bad this cycle, and my insurance doesn't cover injectibles (which out of pocket the nurse said were like $5000... that seems high but w/e), the Dr is recommending that we stay with Clomid 50mg but add Estrace and Viagra suppositories. I guess the Viagara increases blood flow down there which helps with the lining. It makes sense, just something I never thought I would be doing!
Has anyone else done/heard of this? Seems crazy!

I haven't heard about using viagra but I do think that the nurses price quote of injectibles is way high. I was only on follistim plus the trigger shot and only went through one or two cartridges of the follistim each time. I use freedom fertility (mail order) and although I have insurance, I think they are supposed to have the best prices with no insurance. It may be worth just checking into so you have accurate information and can better decide what you would like to do. I also had unused cartridges that I donated to the office, they may also have some to give away. My RE takes care of getting the prescription to FF, then I call and order the meds and they arrive the next day, their service has been great.

I've heard of injectibles being $1,000 - $2,000 out of pocket for an IVF cycle, but that's usually several different medications and higher doses are used so you need more cartridges/vials.

Lots of babydust your way!!!

There is also a website where people sell drugs at a discount when they could no longer use them. http://www.topix.com/forum/health/infertility/T2A9QPGVVKH3ABQ8J/p61 Go ahead and check them out.

Hi all,

Hope everyone had a great holiday and wishing everyone good baby mojo for 2011.

As you might remember, we did our first IUI last month with 3 mature follicles. Unfortunately, no dice. AF arrived with a vengeance the day after Christmas. I don't remember cramps ever being that bad. The nurse at my doc's office said that was a common side effect from the Clomid and trigger shot. Oh well.... :headache:

So we did Clomid again (stayed at 50mg) and I went in for an U/S this morning. I had one mature follicle and one immature one. We are going to trigger tonight and do IUI Thursday morning. Hopefully by then, the immature follicle with grow a bit.

My cousin who is like my big sister had a gorgeous baby boy on Dec 30th, which happened to fall right in the middle of my Clomid process. She has been so supportive of me through this whole thing and she and her husband couldn't have been kinder when my DH and I went to visit them in the hospital. Still, it was a tough day, wondering if we will ever have the joy of having a baby and taking it home from the hospital. DH keeps saying that somehow, someway, this is going to happen. Between the holiday stress, AF arriving and my cousin's baby, it's been a rough couple of weeks. Still, I keep telling myself that 2011 will be our year. Gotta stay positive! :thumbsup2

Good luck to everyone! I love reading all of the updates, even if I don't post often.
