Sounds like you've got a plan. I'm Anna and my hubby and I have been ttc off and on for close to a year. I have uterine fibroids and my dx has recomended a HSG for me. How was it? I've read it's.....not fun.

The HSG honestly wasn't that bad. My RE told me NOT to read about it online and freak myself out. She just told me exactly what she was doing and when I should breathe deep, relax, etc. I think that really helped me.

mine was HORRIBLE. It is very different for everyone.

Doesn't help that the dr that did mine looked about 17. Friggin Doogie Howser!! (but not anywhere near as charming)

Hi everyone-

Wow! Good luck to Joanne and cc1013- we could use some good news on here!!

And yes, Joanne- sending an US photo as a Christmas card is totally weird regardless of whether or not your were TTC-ing (imo). I don't think anyone other than the future grandparents would really want that. Very odd!

Anyway- hugs for those of you who think your journey might be coming to an end . I don't even know what to say other than send a hug.

I called my doctor today and I have to go in for my annual exam and I am also going to lay out all of our insurance issues for our doctor and figure out what he thinks we should do- blow it all on an HSG? Or save it for another test that is more important.. etc.? In about 6 months we will hit 3 years of TTC and we are going to start reading up on adoption so I want to get any tests that we can afford out of the way first! Unfortunately they couldn't get me in till February- yuck. Until then we'll be patient as we have been and cross our fingers.

Rude and, honestly, a little cheesy. I'm not a fan of ultrasound pics in general, and I don't think it's due to my fertility problems, really. Rude and, honestly, a little cheesy. I'm not a fan of ultrasound pics in general, and I don't think it's due to my fertility problems, really. I just don't find them heartwarming or cute; in fact, I have a hard time even seeing anything in them most of the time! I can't imagine putting one on a Christmas card.

Now I don't feel so bad. I can never see anything they point out either!

Hi Ellis! I grew up around O'Hare (Niles/Park Ridge area) and now live in the northern suburbs. My doctor RE is out of Skokie Hospital (North Shore). Our insurance (BCBS HMO Illinois) works with Winn Fertility and they have a fairly small network. We had to stick with North Shore as our primary care doctor is through that network. Gotta love HMO rules! I've always been with a PPO and often went to Northwestern but changed just last year to get the infertility coverage. Are you at Northwestern?

I'm Deb. Been TTCing for like forever. Ten years of treatments & trying before we adopted our oldest son. Then 2 years of more treatments and finally got a BFP and second son was born. Now TTCing 8 years and nothing. Just threw in the towel this week as its my b-day tomorrow and offically over 40 so no chance now.

Is it me or is everyone on the community board announcing they're preggos?

I'm glad to hear that you have flexibility with both your infertility coverage and diabetes treatment. We have the HMO coverage through March 31, 2012, so here's hoping we are blessed before then! So far we've had to pay regular copays (RE visits, HSG procedure in hospital, meds) but it's gone well so far. We'll see what happens as things progress.
