TTC thread take 2

Not sure if any of you read O Magazine. There is an article in this month's mag about infertility/loss from the husband's perspective. I thought it was very touching. It kinda hits close to home, not sure if everyone is at a place where they would want to read it. I can give you the link if you want it, or just google Mourning Has Broken by Ian Wallach. I just wanted to share this last paragraph with all of you:

In a parallel universe, I'm changing diapers and craving sleep, but in this one, the adoption process is under way, so somewhere there is, or is about to be, a child who will find his or her way to us, and we will all catch and protect each other. In due time, I'll rock back and forth, holding a swaddled child. In a whirlwind of joy, embarrassment, and hypocrisy, I may even shamelessly think that everything happens for a reason.

Thank you for sharing this. It is harder for men to show emotion on these things sometimes because they are being strong for us. ;) I'll take a read on this later today.

Ok, contracts are signed and my RE office is in contact with our Donor and making appointments for check ups et al. . . We have an appointment with an attorney next week to go over contracts as well. This is a flat fee which is good but still, shoot! Again, at least this is a flat fee so hopefully no more surprises. With the way timing is now I'm thinking that this will all happen in January because they don't really like to do this kind of thing over the Christmas/Jewish holidays. . . So that's where we are at as of now.

My parents are coming out tomorrow. They are coming in for Meg's Grandparent day on Friday and then going to spend the weekend with us. It will be nice to see them as we haven't seen them since July! Crossing my fingers that there is no drama!:goodvibes

Rose ~ How're you doin?

Thinking of all of you! :grouphug:

Eilis...so...this is it, right??!! Eeek!! I'm so excited for you!! I know there's a wait but it'll be here before you know it. There's a precious baby in your future! (or two ;))

Cher - to you. I know how those days (weeks) are. I even had one woman tell me one time that she must have "special favor with God" cuz she has been blessed with so many children (5). :sad2: Are you serious??? As if to say I somehow have not found special favor w/ God or am not a good mother. Cats, dogs and rabbits have many offspring too, but that doesn't mean they're special.

E - This must be such an exciting and yet scary time for you. I pray that all goes well and that next year we'll be throwing you a virtual baby shower. :cutie:

If anyone is seriously interested in meeting in the Chicago area (Maybe Woodfield mall ??) send me a PM with your email address and dates between now and Christmas that you might be in the area and I'll try to set something up. We need all the help we can get going into these crazy holiday months. :grouphug:

Well, today is day 14 after my trigger shot and BFN. So bummed. I can feel AF coming.
 That just soooo stinks!!!!!

OMG...I have great news!!!!!

So I work online as a travel writer (can't divulge with whom) and every year, my writing contract comes up for review. Well, my boss got in touch with me and told me they are revising it. I think, "Uh oh. What did I do?" :scared1:

Are you sitting down? Since I am the "Disney Expert", I will get the chance to go to the two Disney parks, D-Land and D-World all year next year!!!!!!!! Every 3-4 months, I will be leaving to cover a new event at one of the two parks!!!!! OMG!!!!!! I'm so excited!!!!!!:dance3:

I think after a while, Mickey's gonna say, "You again?"

So get ready to see a lot of tickers coming up. LOL.
Gabbie
Yay Gabbie. Any chance you can take a few friends???

OMG Sister so nervous right now. I'm so excited but I am trying to be realistic at the same time and not get ahead of myself. The waiting part, well, we've waited this long so I'm hoping the old adage, Good things come to those who wait will apply not only to Mike and me but to all of us here!:goodvibes Believe it or not I purchased some smudging things online. This is what I am going to do on Thursday is a smudging ritual in our house. It is supposed to bring in positive energy and I really want to make sure that we are as set up as possible for positive energy! I also looked at a feng Shui Bagua and I am going to put plants and good karma things in the family, children, health and money corners! I look at it this way, even if it is a whole bunch of blarney, if mentally it puts us in a good place it can only help right? :goodvibes

Jeeze, some people! Ya gotta love those self ritious (sp?) Christians who love to make others feel bad using God. Sheesh. . .

OMGoodness Sister, from your mouth to God's ears right!:goodvibes

I'd definately love to meet up! I'll email you in a few.

geez, seriously?!! Some people just don't know what is coming out of their mouths!!

Last night it got worse for me. A neighbor whom we've never met (I think they moved in 3 months ago, down the street) let her young children run amok and her 2 boys (ages 5 and 6) and little girl (age 4 I think) were running all over our yard chasing our chickens. (Yes, we--ahem, DH--have chickens, as of earlier this year. I sure hope we get pregnant soon because we are gonna end up with a whole farm if not!)

So all 3 of her kids are barefoot and the youngest boy tells my husband that he wants to "kill a chicken with this piece of wood" :scared1: My DH tells him "NO you can't kill the chickens, they lay eggs for us, they are nice chickens". The kid still proceeds to chase our chickens around the yard with a stick. I tell them multiple times to leave the chickens alone, but they won't quit. I didn't even know who they belonged to so I couldn't find their mother!! Eventually she comes walking down and starts yelling at her boys. I introduce myself to be nice, and her boys will NOT listen to her. She tells me she and her fiance are sick, as are her 2 girls---one of the girls was at my house with the boys, the other is apparently too small. (gee, thanks for telling me AFTER I shook your hand!! :headache:) She stood there trying to get her boys to leave for the next 10 minutes or so.

The girl was probably no older than 25/26. 4 kids with her "fiance" living in a 3 bedroom trailer, and lets her kids run down the street with no shoes on, in other people's yards. And God still hasn't blessed ME and DH with not even one baby, not one!!!

:sad2:

well of course y'all guessed it. NOT pregnant. Now we are broke & have a huge loan to pay off, I've gained 10 pounds, and I have absolutely nothing to show for it.

It's totally unbelievably unfair. :sad1::sad1::sad1:

Thanks for all of your posts, you really make me feel loved here.

We ran off to Vegas for a few days. My inlaws renewed their vows, I think I mentioned this before. Thankfully they paid for everything. Now being back...just, ugh, facing the reality again. :sad1:

I am so sorry. So very sorry. I just wish I had some better words of encouragement for you, but know you're being prayed for.

Don't mind me. Just so emotional today. AF arrived and then I found out a friend of mine was just diagnosed w/ breast cancer. Then I came over here and read these posts and I don't know whether to cry or scream. :sad2:

But Yeah for Gabbie!!! At least your insurance came through for you. :thumbsup2

I'm so sorry to hear about both AF and your friend. I HATE cancer!

OK just need to vent here... why is it that the one time I actually want AF to come so we can start testing with the RE, it is nowhere in sight?! Have tested twice and got BFNs so what is the deal? This has been the longest cycle I've had all year, of course the one time I wanted it to come right away. Feel like nothing is coming easily these days. UGH!
Thanks for letting me vent ladies!

I totally relate to this, as AF has disappeared on me as well. I'm going to talk to my GYN about it at my annual visit later this month. Frustrating, to say the least!

OMG...I have great news!!!!!

Very cool, Gabbie! Enjoy all your trips!!

To me the nature of a blessing is that it's a gift none of us deserve. The audacity of this woman to say that she is "extra" special to God is mind-blowing. God loves each and every one of us the same in my book. I know I don't deserve my wonderful husband, nice place to live, good job, etc. I'm just blessed to have them despite my many faults. Yeesh!

Ugh. That is unbelieveable.

Well, I had the day of heck today. I fainted in the front room due to sugar imbalance (I think or stress....our water line broke today.) I know I fainted because Kenny just happened to be home today and found me. When I fell, I knocked over our prized glass chess set and broke a few pieces. :sad1: We've had that since our wedding day. Now I feel terrrible about it. Ken says not to be upset. He'd rather it be broke than me.

My mom is calling the city to see if they'll fix the line. She says it looks like it's on their side. Thank Goodness. :woohoo:

It's just when all this stress and stuff comes togehter, I can't deal after a while. I blew my diet today. I had sugary cereal, pizza, and pop. I feel bad about that too. Well, there's always tommorrow.

Gabbie

Doing better today. Like they always say, when the going gets tough, the tough go shopping.

I went with my g-ma and dad today to a retail outlet and got: three shirts for Ken, some jewelry, a cute fabric bag that could be a diaper bag if the stork takes requests, two shirts, and.....a Juicy Couture pink/green bag which was priced at......

3.99!!!!! :cool1:

Came home and found out that the city is going to take care of the pipe. :woohoo: Soooo happy!

Much better day today!

Gabbie

Yup. It's an outlet store that's only open a few times a year. They have great deals when they are.

The city people are outside now working on the water pipe. Didn't cost a dime! :woohoo:

Last night, I checked online....my dining ressies were gone! :scared1: Cali Grill said it was cancelled! I never did that. I called this morning, they're all still there :dance3: Whew!

Now I can stop holding my breath.

Gabbie

Glad to hear things are looking up for you, Gabbie! That's especially great news about the water line being totally free!

So ladies, no AF yet. I tested again yesterday and BFN. What a crappy week. To top it off, my in-laws are visiting this weekend - to celebrate my 40th birthday. I really don't want to celebrate - it is like celebrating the death of my dream for a baby. My Dh just doesn't get it - he is trying. Oh well, I guess I just need to find a way to cope and put on a happy face.

Have a great weekend everyone - I know the weather here is supposed to be outstanding!

I know the pain of the 40th b-day only too well. Sometimes I think I might have been less upset about my 40th if I didn't have so much TTC trouble and had all my children on cue. :guilty: Sigh! And you're right...men just don't get it. It is like the death of a dream or the loss of part of yourself.

Happy Birthday MommaSnowWhite, I am sure it is hard, but I hope you can have a happy day...at least you have a WDW trip coming right?

Gabbie that is awesome that you will get to go the parks so much :cool1:

I don't want to jinx it, but I should be getting AF about 2 days before my trip, which I am so excited because the first 2 days are always the worst and I am glad they won't land on my vacation!! I can't wait for a little Disney pick be up :)

Wishing us all brighter days soon :flower3:
