TTC thread take 2

Hi Elisabeth! Welcome and hope your stay is short.

There are lots of reasons why you missed a period. Some are no big deals like a change of cycle others could be more impactful to ttc. I might take this one round of provera and see if your cycle gets back on track. If it does not, insist the doctor see you sooner than your annual.

Best of luck to you.

Oh Elisabeth, don't beat yourself up over your weight! Overweight people get pregnant all of the time, while skinny people struggle all of the time. Of course you want your body in tip top shape while taking this TTC journey as it can only help matters, but it's not the end of the world if it's not.

I'm overweight...never lost the baby weight I gained with DS 7 years ago! :headache: And TTC baby #2 for over 4 years, along with all of the fertility meds, didn't help my weight go down any. I ended up getting pregnant after deciding to take a few months off from the Drs and meds and timing. :) I'm 10 weeks along. Couldn't hear the baby's heartbeat yesterday on the doppler, probably due to my fat belly ;), but saw and heard it via ultrasound.

If you really want to see your dr, then make an appointment.

Have you tried charting your temps yet? If not, you may want to give that a try for a few months to get an idea if you O regularly and when you normally O. Many people, myself included, O later than the normal 14 days.

Thank you all for the warm welcome! I really appreciate the encouragement!

I'll keep you posted after I take that final test on Monday morning before calling the nurse to get the Rx for Provera.

Ladies, I just had to stop by and tell y'all that so many people are rooting for you that you probably don't even realize! I've had so many PM's from DIS members congratulating me, saying that they lurk on the TTC thread and have followed my story. It is so touching to know so many keep us TTC ladies in their thoughts and are hoping for BFP's for us all! :goodvibes

And to any of you lurkers out there, thanks again! :lovestruc

Congrats on the heartbeat Skuttle! :yay:

And welcome ead79! I hope your cycles work their way out. After being off the pill for about 8 months I randomly had really irregular LONG cycles and then they just sort of sorted themselves back out on their own and are short again (we had the same type of month where it was long and DH was conviced I was pregnant...it was a downer when I wasn't).

And I don't mean this in a snotty way, but yes, like Skuttle said I am built like a flagpole and I have been TTC for two years so that doesn't always make the difference! You look great in your picture, so as long as you are healthy and happy, it's all good :)

Happy TTC-ing everyone, I have another good feeling about this month!

I agree with Kronk's Girl. My dx has told me weight doesn't play a factor as long as I am healthy. Which I always tell mom anytime she uses the "you're too fat" line.:rolleyes:

I'll be honest with you guys, I'm a big girl. I'm a size 22, but I feel beautiful and I am healthy. Plus, my hubby thinks I am crazy hot!

Welcome Elisabeth! We are always here to help or just be supportive. :grouphug:

I agree w/ everyone else. Weight doesn't seem to be THE factor in this crazy journey we are on. I consider myself average and I've had nothing but problems for 16 years now.

Skuttle - So happy for you still. :cheer2:
So how exactly do you STOP trying? I've been wondering that myself for years. What I wouldn't give for a "Whoops". ;)

LOL! We didn't actually stop "trying." We just decided to put off moving on to injectables with the RE, which was going to be our next step after the failed clomid IUIs. I stopped taking all of the fertility meds, didn't take my temp, didn't use OPKs...none of that crap. No doctors! Just BD when we wanted to, not because the calendar told us to.

Oh, and we also moved all of the baby stuff from DS out of the 3rd bedroom and into the attic about a month or two before. When we moved into this house 4 years ago, we put all of the baby stuff into the 3rd bedroom assuming we'd get pregnant soon. It's bugged DH so much to just have the bedroom pretty much useless for the past 4 years, so I finally sucked it up and agreed to move it all to the attic so we could actually use that room. DH is convinced that's what did it. LOL!

that is how I get foster kids I put the kids stuff away and the phone will ring the next day (even had it happen 2 hours later once) and I have to drag it all back out again :rolleyes1

Hee hee...I know you Never stop "trying" but we've thrown out all the charts, meds, and tests quite a while ago. I've even SOLD some of our baby stuff and still NOTHING. :guilty:

Today I am very happy because some friends of ours who have been on this infertility journey with us for 16 years are in China to bring home their baby girl #2. They adopted their DD8 7 years ago when we had DS7 and then decided that they wanted to adopt again. They have been waiting 4 years now and finally will be meeting their daughter in a few hours. Its these stories and Skuttles that really make me happy that something good is finally happening for those who have waited SO LONG!!!:cloud9:

How wonderful and exciting! That is one thing that worries me though...we totally aren't ready to jump into adoption anytime soon, but if that becomes the case down the line, 4 years is such a long time to wait! This must be so exciting for them.

Our adoption only took 1 year so they don't all take that long. We're almost ready to jump back in to the adoption arena. Days like today when AF arrives and makes me misserable, those are the days I want to start the process RIGHT NOW so I can get off this crazy roller coaster.

Okay here is a TMI question...

Did anyone on here ever get hostile CM when taking clomid? I think I have that this cycle . I noticed it a lot last cycle too, but this one has been worse. I read up online about taking robitussin a few days before to help counteract that, but I think it's too late to save this cycle since I should probably ovulate tonight or tomorrow.

Anyone know of any other things to help? I sort of have a weird feeling that taking the clomid is actually making my chances worse. I hope I am wrong.

Kronks - I have the opposite problem - no cm while on clomid. You may want to try PreSeed. They have a website that will tell you where you can find it.

Thanks again for the warm welcome to the group--it's nice to have some support!

Just to update on the whole missing AF situation, I took another pregnancy test yesterday first thing in the morning, and it was negative as I expected. So the doctor has called in a prescription for Provera. Once I pick that up, hopefully it will do the trick and bring AF back. It feels odd to be wanting AF to come, but I don't feel like I can make any progress until she shows up again, lol.

KG, I'm pretty sure the robittussin (or Mucinex) would still help (it certainly can't hurt). Just make sure you don't get the DM kind :thumbsup2

Hmmm....will have to try that. Ty!!!!

Like my new tickers? We're going Oct. 26-31 to POR for F&W/MNSSHP and WWOHP and then, onto DCL Oct. 31-Nov. 4 to the Bahamas!

Very excited! Gotta get Halloween costumes!
