TTC thread take 2

No worries at all. Thank you for checking in on us. It as so sweet xo

No problem :goodvibes

Well ladies, I'm back in the game. DS was born following our 1st IVF cycle in May of 2010 and we had 2 embryos left. I went in for a consult last month and am now on estrogen in preparation for a transfer later this month. I am so nervous! We'll find out the day after thanksgiving.

Good Luck! Many prayers headed your way! :wizard:

OK so silly question here but...I was not cycling before dx w/ thyroid cancer and PCOS. During the treatment process they put me on metformin and this time I AM cycling once I got off the pill. Either the metformin or the little bit of weight loss is working because I am cycling (yay) but I have, like I said, a silly question. I had just a tiny bit of spotting one afternoon before a full blown period. Which would you count as "Day 1" if you were me?

both my RE and OB/GYN have always told me that day 1 is bleeding where you need to use a pad/tampon (not spotting) - so day 1 would be when got your full blown period

My RE says full flow before 3:30pm is CD1. No question is ever a silly question. I've seen many women ask the very same thing because there's so many different responses to it.

Although I never posted on here before, I've been stalking. DH and I were trying for 5 months. I stopped talking the pill after our April trip to WDW. Just over three weeks ago, I got my BFP! I had a ultrasound yesterday to date the pregnancy since my cycles are irregular. I am 7 weeks and am due June 21, 2012! I am a school teacher and this works out great for me. I will likely still start a maternity leave before school ends though.

I give pretty random bonus questions to my students and have already decided how I'm going to announce it to them. "Mrs. S. is pregnant with her first child and is due sometime during the 2011-2012 school year. What month is she due?"

Hi Girls,

We did have to say goodbye to one of our twins last Thursday. It has been a sad, dark week.
Our surviving baby is strong but we are scared and praying for our babe to continue to grow and stay healthy.

I'm so sorry. I can't imagine how that must feel. My prayers are with your little survivor.

haha, 3:30 seems like such an odd time. So strange that it's so different depending who you go to. My doctors have said 6 pm. 3:30 seems so early....so if you get full flow at 4 pm you have to count it as next day....seems so wrong :headache:

Cherbear, the plan is for the 16th. What about you?

Hi All,

Checking to make sure everyone is doing well.

both my RE and OB/GYN have always told me that day 1 is bleeding where you need to use a pad/tampon (not spotting) - so day 1 would be when got your full blown period

This is what I always followed as well.

It was 8 years ago this weekend that I got a BFP - after 3 devastating m/c. Of course I didn't trust that BFP, and pretty much held my breath for 9 months. In June 2004, I welcomed my son....my ray of hope that my heartbreaks weren't all for nothing. We had TTC for 3 years to get that BFP.

I just wanted to extend a huge hug to those of you here waiting for that BFP. I know that at times hope seems lost....but just keep hanging on. Your ray of hope IS coming.

I always get so sentimental this time of year....remembering what I had been through, and where I am now. I wouldn't wish IF on my worst enemy....

As the song goes "God Bless the Broken Road"....one day you will get to hold that child you have longed for in your arms. I remember when they handed me my son and our eyes connected and I said "There you are.....". Right then all the trials and tribulations that I had been through to get to that moment...they made sense. Had those babies of mine that I m/c survived, or had I gotten pregnant right out of the starting gate...I wouldn't have the amazing sons I do. They are worth every single tear I shed.

I know right now it doesn't look like your pain will 'be worth it', but it will. And you will thank God for bringing you for what he did.

Take care, ladies.....

Hope everyone is having a good week!

NEVERENOUGHWDW - I am glad your other baby is still doing well!

WDWAurora - Sounds exciting! Looking forward to a positive outcome!

cherbear - Keep us posted on your upcoming transfer

Minnesota! - Thanks for the kind, encouraging words!

I just got a call from my IVF coordinator to begin birth control for our upcoming cycle in January. I knew I was going to have to do this, but what struck me as odd was that she said I would probably be on birth control for 5-6 weeks. Does that sound normal to you all? I feel like most cases I've read about aren't for that long. I am worried that is going to over-suppress me, because I wasn't a super responder on Clomid. Do you think I should call back and say something?

Thank You!!!

You are well on your way!!!!! If it makes you feel better please call back as a gentle reminder.

I have to tell you on the CB someone is freaking out because she's having twins. If she only knew the other side of it. Of course I reacted but emotions can run high.

Looks like we will hopefully have some pregnancies very soon.....I pray so for all:grouphug:

I guess I have not been good about posting here. I could have sworn I posted after I had my transfer!! Maybe that post didn't stick. :(

I had a perfect transfer of 2 five day blasts last Wednesday. One was already hatching!!

But now, I have great news. Today for the first time, I saw 2 lines!!!!

In total shock, excited, and praying that this baby (or babies) stay in for the long haul!!!

What fantastic news, Cherbear!!!! Prayers for a H&H 9 for you! So much to be thankful for!

Yeah for 2 lines!!! So excited for you Cher!

I got some good news today from the Dr's office. My beta is finally negative after the miscarriage and since I am on my next cycle after bleeding the RE said I can go ahead and do IVF in January instead of waiting until March. So I start the birth control pills tonight and go back on Dec 6th for the water ultrasound and find out the protocol. I am excited, nervous and scared as I thought I had until March and now it's happening sooner which is fine with me (although I was trying to lose a little bit more weight before March but oh well) and then we leave for WDW on Dec 8th!

I saw my regular OB/GYN last week for my annual and my cholesterol was really bad. I told my RE that they were concerned as it can lead to birth defects but my RE told me she wasn't concerned. So not sure what to think. I meet with a primary care Dr. tomorrow to discuss it so hopefully I still have the go ahead to do IVF. Anybody else have high cholesterol?

Cher, that is awesome news!!! We transferred on the same day! I haven't tested yet. Maybe tomorrow. I go in for the blood test Friday. I got it moved late enough that I could go shopping first!

Courtney, didn't you avoid taking a HPT last time??? You have such will power!!
