TTC buses

I know that the Polynesian Resort has its own bus depot. I would like to know about the TTC buses since they are within walking distance to the Poly. If you pick up a bus at the TTC to lets say AK, will it go directly to AK?

Just asking because it has been my understanding that buses that pick up and drop off at the Poly, also stop at the Contempary and maybe another resort. Thought that maybe it would be more direct to pick up a bus to the parks over at the TTC.

TIA!

I believe most of the buses from the TTC, if not all, are direct to their destination. So a bus headed for AK from the TTC should go right there. However, I think the Poly only shares a route with the GF so it's not so bad. I guess depending on how close your room is to the TTC it might save you some time. But then again, you could be potentially run into more people waiting for buses at the TTC since other non-resort guests will be able to ride those buses. Using your hotel's dedicated buses I think may be the better option.

I've taken the buses from the TTC, and they go direct to the park. There is one that goes to the AK and one that goes to DHS. The bus stops have never really been very crowded when I've used them. But I have not used them in the early am or after a park closes. Only after being at MK and then wanting to go over to the AK or DHS, or leaving DHS or AK to go over to the MK.

The only Disney buses that go to and from the TTC are the ones that go to Hollywood Studios and the Animal Kingdom.

Deoending what longhouse you are in, some will be closer to the TTC than the GCH. If that's the case, you can just walk over and catch a TTC bus or the monorail if you want to go to MK or Epcot.

When we stayed at the Poly we did it both ways and I can't say there was a clear winner. We were in the Tahiti longhouse, which is one of the nearest to the TTC.

Poly's bus stop itself is not directly in front of the Great Ceremonial House but it actually the length of roughly one city block in the direction of the TTC. Then again, it is also towards the front of the resort (as in, away from the lagoon) and therefore presents more walking for someone coming from the area of the lagoon, such as the Tahiti longhouse.

But like I said, in my opinion it was "6 of one, half dozen of the other."

I'll tell ya what IS great, however ... coming back to Poly from Animal Kingdom and Disney's Hollywood Studios after a long hot day. At least during my week there, at both of those parks the Contemporary/Poly/Grand Floridian bus stop was directly next to the TTC bus stop. This means that when leaving both of those parks, we would get on whichever bus came first. it really didn't matter to us which came first, since the place where we'd eventually get off the bus (either Poly bus stop or TTC) was the same distance to our room no matter which one we took. Obviously, this advantage would not apply at any time when there would be huge lines for each bus at the parks, such as at each park's closing time.

That's exactly what we ended up doing when staying at the Polynesian in December 2007 and it just so happened to be that we saw the TTC bus arrive 1st.
