TTC and Disney

My dh and I have been TTC child #2 for a few months now, and we have a trip to the World planned for Nov 28- Dec 4. We did not get pregnant this time around and now I am trying to decide if we should stop trying until the trip so that I don't end up in my first trimester feeling sick at Disney World. I really want to be pregnant soon, and I am so upset that we have to stop trying for a few months. I am also considering trying to move the trip up, but I don't even know how it would effect the cost of the trip. What would you do? Only DISer's can understand TTCing around Disney.

I would just continue but that is me & I am fertile myrtle which is why I have 3 kids & my tubes tied!

If you stop it may take you that much longer & you may regret that you did stop just for Disney. But then if you stop you may just get pregnant because you aren't trying.

And who knows, you may not have MS this time around.

With my 1st I had MS at my worst around 4 months.

With my 2nd I think it was more so the end of the 1st trimester then the 1st one.

With my 3rd, I was about 6-8 weeks pg when I went to Disney & other then a few periods of nausea while there I was fine.

It was my headaches that were killing me but being in Disney I never had one.

You may be surprised & not have any MS this time around (or you may have it).

Well, we brought DS home as a souvenier from our 9/05 trip so I was 14 weeks pg on our 12/05 cruise and WDW trip. I was fine b/c the weather was pleasant. Of course I had to skip the big rides. How old is #1? If your child does not do big rides then I wouldn't worry too much. Only you really know how you felt the first time.

I am 8 weeks pregnant now and went through the same decision as you. I know that in the first trimester I get deathly ill!!(this is my 3rd) I did not want to be in my first trimester and be at WDW and be miserable. I planned it so that I would be in the 2nd trimester and luckily we got pregnant on our 2nd try! If it didn't work out that way I was going to wait till after the trip to start trying. Our trip is in Nov and I said to myself if we weren't pregnant by Aug, then we'd wait till we got back to try again.
Good luck. Hey why not save the trying for while you're there! A WDW baby is a great souvenier!!

We went last year when I was 10 weeks pregnant. Thankfully I didn't have any morning sickness at all, however, I was extremely tired and barely had the energy to walk anywhere. It seemed like we'd get to a park and I'd want to go back to the room and nap. I decided that I'd never again go when pregnant - but that's just me.

I would try for a WDW souvenir!

Well when we planned this trip, I didn't even know I was pregnant

I now have a 13 month old daughter (yes, we planned this trip a LONG time ago, LOL)

All it meant was adding one more to the booking, babies don't really cost anything and if you're pregnant at the time there's still a lot you can do. Just go for it and let fate decide, if it happens, it happens, if it doesn't, you can do your Disney trip as you ordinarily would do.

Oh and also if you ARE pregnant in your first trimester - Splash is fine to ride. It's kind of a toss up between EE and BTMR, but they're MUCH better to ride in the first trimester than any later. It's just a personal choice, for me, I'd see how I felt at the time and whether my pregnancy was high risk or not. If not, then go, and enjoy it, and don't forget, many people don't know they're pregnant in the first trimester so they'd be doing EVERYTHING without realising and have a healthy bub at the end!!

I think I would recommend waiting until after your trip. Why would you want to spend all that money and not be able to do whatever you wanted to? I have 2 children and I had no morning sickness at all but I was extremely exhausted and there was no way I could have gone anywhere like that, especially Disney World. When you are pregnant that is a time to take care of yourself, especially at the beginning when things are still so delicate.
