Hello:

We are heading down to DLR this weekend! Has anyone been recently (especially on a weekend) and know whether they had the special TSMM line at opening? We have been twice before and they had it once, and not the other time. Just trying to decide how we're going to make our plan. Thanks!

Kim :)

Also curious about this since we will be there on Sunday.

I'd like to know this too. Blackjackdelta, you may have to fill us in after your trip-have a great time!

By "special TSMM line" I assume you're talking about how everyone lines up by GRR and then everyone walks in an orderly line to the attraction and boards like that. I haven't seen that since last summer.

When I went in October (on a weekend) it was a free for all at the rope drop. Some people lined up over by GRR (not like an official line) and others by the Sunshine Plaza. Not sure who made it to the ride first though.

When I went in June, same thing as in October, but the people lined up by Sunshine Plaza got to the ride before us over by GRR. I know because I was at the very front of the rope drop over by GRR/GCH.

However, many people have reported that the cluster of people over by GRR usually gets to the ride first. It seems there is no official rule or pattern.

We were there over 4th of July weekend and they had it. I believe they let us in and brought us over around 15 minutes before the park opened.

Since DLR29 gave an older experience as a response, I'll tell you that the GCH people had no benefit over others around Memorial Day weekend this year.

The gates opened at 9:30, some went to ride Soarin' (we got FPs), but most went one of the two ways to wait for the rest of the park to open. We took the Grizzly line. We were in the row second back from the rope. The rope was further into the park than GCH. The only people allowed through were those with Ariel PSs.

I guess GCH people might have been let through early, but ONLY if they'd already been lined up at the GCH entrance well before 9:30...because we got to the line about 5 minutes, maybe 10, after they opened the gates (the usual half hour before proper opening), and like I said we were among the first lined up.

Once the park fully opened, the funny security guard did a countdown (he'd actually already dropped the rope, but most of the people didn't know that at all) and off we went!

With the construction going on, I actually think the Sunshine Plaza people got their first...
