TSM standby-less test Oct. 6-9

I think we are going back for one more morning there over the weekend, see if the park redeems itself for the trip.
I don't want to get people worked up - my friend thought the CM was rewarding the kids because they were so polite to him. It could really be that simple? The passes say they expire oct 31. I haven't used rider switch in a few years, does anyone know if it's normal fr them to have that long a duration?
At any rate, the pixie dust avalanche continues. We just got free churros. Maybe they sense the dissatisfaction?

That's good news that the rest of your trip is going better than the experience you posted the other day. I could tell you were upset, and can't blame you. At least this test will be over when you go back to DHS.

And I'm hoping you are right about the passes being gifts from a CM rather than some preemptive damage control for another unannounced test.

Sorry to send you on a wild goose chaise- see my explanation I already posted.

Tuesday and Thursday seem very familiar. I remember planning our trip around those days. It was the start of our park hopping too!

I'm just positive there were evening hours as well- a separate ticket was required but was only available to on site guests.

We never did one of those because I don't think they ever had them when we were there. But, I think the price was pretty minimal (like $10) for unlimited access to the major attractions at MK.

I've totally blocked out the price!

But, if you want more- the deluxes and villas are beyond ridiculous in price- even with discounts. They simply have to add more to the pot.

Or lower the cost. Since they haven't done that yet maybe they aren't have a hard time filling those rooms enough to satisfy them.

We did a June trip in 2008 )or '09?) we paid $10 for late after hours, it was amazing, not as HOT, late at night, I want to say we were there till 2 or 3am! but every now and then I've read where they do stay late, without charging the extra $10...

and we did the early magic hour that was for the young kids in Fantasyland, where characters came out and played and were fun and silly with the young kids... (Peter Pan played shadow tag, it was great!) only Fantasyland was open, it was fun to just watch the joy on the faces of kids and characters...(and I don't remember an extra charge for that - and it was our next trip to wdw, not sure 2012 maybe?)

Again, it just seems that WDW is doing more "taking away" then they are "adding" I dread going back in June...

Well I'm not so sure they are filling them enough to be satisfied either- otherwise why the push to encourage on site stays? It's me personally that's not satisfied with the perks though. I have idea how many others think they are way over priced- of course I'm still paying it soooo....

Values they seem to book pretty solid, but the deluxes not so much. And they're still offering discounts- that's not what a business does when they're filling to capacity.

And then they direct you to one of the other 23 pools you can use instead. This actually happens sometimes when a resort pool is being used for a private party.

Yes, but you would have to waste extra time driving to another resort.

Honestly I didn't realize that Disney booked the resort hotel pools for private parties, and didn't announce it. Also most (reputable) resorts that DO book their pools for private parties, have the decency to post several signs so that people know ahead of time.

You know..... people think I've swapped to DL because I don't like FP+. Really I switched because their churros are fresher and easier to find. :p

I thought it was because our Dole Whip Floats have tiny paper umbrellas and a cherry on top.

Well, who knew? We were there during a cold snap last December so I never got one. It's definitely on my "must do" list now! :cool1:

The best part is if you go watch Tiki room. They have a dedicated line in the Tiki room waiting area. Plus, it tends to be shorter. You can also eat your Dole Whip inside during the show. It's great:)

I think that sounds like an awesome idea. :thumbsup2 I'm just hoping I don't have to go inside the show to escape the cold this time.

This can't be the future of WDW, they will ruin everything they always stood for. It's ridiculous, like I get doing tests and stuff, but they've done something like this once, why would they do it again. HS is already not as popular as they would want, why make people even more miserable when going there.

They will only turn people away from going there.

I hope they read these boards once in a while. It's some of the best and most true feedback on here.

But in all seriousness, Walt would not be happy, bet he's agreeing with all of us! :confused3

The Disneyland Tiki Room is awesome. The show inside of the theater is pretty much the same, but the opening show outside of the theater is very fun. Plus you can sit and enjoy a Dole Whip inside or outside of the theater.

Walt was pretty happy making as much money as possible, so I don't think any of us really know which side of this he'd fall on.
