TSM: Observation and changes needed at rope drop

With all the work being done at Hollywood Studios, I'd hope that they could figure out a better way to funnel people at the opening of the park. We did not have a FP+ for one of our days at DHS, so we did the rope drop to get there and do it stand by. What a joke. With all the scooters and strollers and people all being pushed into a narrow area, it was chaos at best. I don't have the solution, but I would guess there is a better option. It is going to take a major injury before the mouse ears perk up, I believe.

Last time we will ever do this. We will gladly head over to Rock n Roll Rollercoaster and get in that line. On the other day we had at DHS, we went that direction and got on RnR 4 times in the first 90 minutes of park time, and then used our FP+. Not a bad morning

I can tell you:
A. The current "system" was used (in the past) for years. Then, they made a change.

B. The change was, they opened the park gates 15-30 minutes early and did not have an internal holding area inside the park.
Guests were simply allowed to enter the park gates at a "normal pace," and they could choose to walk to any attraction directly from the gates.
That meant that hundreds of guests were not released to push and shove all at once.
Easier pace. Far less crush and rush. That system was used for 2-3 years. Then...

C. For whatever reason, in the past 3 months, or so, they returned to what I described in "A" above.

They have purposefully and intentionally returned to the "mad rush" system.
They have also done this same thing at Epcot and DAK.
We don't know why.

Makes more sense to let people funnel in and just hold in their lines until 9am opening when the rides or characters would be available.
