TSM fastpass question

Assuming I'm there by rope drop, do I ride first and then get a fastpass or get the fastpass first. I know it will be a madhouse and the fp line will be long.

Personally, I get the FP first. The line is only going to get longer later in the day. I've found that if I get the FP right at rope drop and then get in the Stand-by line, the wait is only about 30 minutes or so. By the time I'm done riding the attraction, my FP window will be nearly open. :)

Yes, this was exactly the case yesterday for us. Also, the sooner you get your FP's, the sooner you can get your next set of FP's.

We were at DHS at rope drop on an AM EMH day. Got a fastpass first - line was not long. Rode it from standby once with no more than a 5 minute wait. When we got off, standby line still wasn't long, so we rode it again. About 10 minutes after the second ride, used our fastpass. Got to ride it 3 times in less than an hour.

Last time we were there we rode first. The FP line was more of a mad house than the standby line. Of course, the FP line was probably 45 minutes long when we got out of TSM, as it stretched almost back to Little Mermaid.

When we did it in October, with rope drop at 9am we got FPs first with a 9:45am return time (well, 3 of the 4 were 9:40am). We then rode via standby, and were out by 9:30am so had to wait around for a bit...

If you want to spread it out more, ride first, then get the FP, but there will probably be a much larger crowd and of course the return time will be later, possibly even reaching lunchtime or later by then. That day they were definitely completely gone by 2:30pm, not sure when they ran out.

Fp then ride...and if you are very close to the rope it won't be a long line for the FP, thus not as long to wait for TSM. Then use your FPs later in the afternoon when the SB time is rediculously long!

We were there yesterday at rope drop. Just about everyone headed straight over to TSM. The line for fast passes was about 10-15 people long and they had workers announcing at the door that they would not let people getting fastpasses in to catch up with their party in line. We rode it and the line was maybe 7-8 min. tops. We then got a fast pass immediately after getting off and it was for 11:00. That worked for us just fine. We could have gotten one more fast pass then but chose not to. The line later in the day said 70 min. and the fast passes were gone by 3:00.

I think I'll hold everyones's tickets and run ahead. By the time the slowpokes catch up, I'll have the fastpasses and we'll go on line together. I like Bobo's plan, that's my personality.
