I remember TSM being really jolty but it doesn't say pregnant women can't ride. Am I just over thinking this? How about safari ride at AK? I remember it being not as bumpy this year as previous rides.

I was there both at about 21 & 25 weeks pregnant. I went on TSM both times and had no problems. I went on the safari the first time @ 21 wks pregnant but not the second time at 25.
First pregnancy was totally uncomplicated. Second one I skipped the safari bc the last sono showed a low lying placenta. So I just was super cautious.

I went on both of those at 20 weeks. My doctor said it was fine. I did find myself very sensitive to the bumpiness of Safari though and only did it once.

This is one of those common sense decisions that only you can make for yourself! I am the type to always err on the side of caution - even your own dr. can not give you a 100% answer what you should do. To me, TSM and the Safari ride are both very jolting and I would not personally ride either. Women have gone on both and have done fine, but I'm not taking any chances, ever!
My pregnancies were way too precious to me. The parks will be there later. JMO :goodvibes

I went on TSM at 16 weeks pregnant. Normally the ride doesn't bother me, but this time it made me a little dizzy. I think the dizziness was pregnancy related, but I didn't feel like it was an unsafe choice or that I was being jostled around too much.

I'll be 16 weeks and plan to ride TSM. If we were going to Ak then I would have ridden the safari. I follow the baby rule. I took my 4 month old on TSM in a carrier so no reason I can't go. She's now two and I'll ride anything she can go on. The rest of the group will take the 4.5 year old on the bigger things.

A little bumpy isn't a big deal, in my opinion. That baby is cushioned nicely in there. I think either decision is a good one. I'd just advise against the coasters

I rode TSM very early in my pregnancy like 10 weeks, with no issues. I had never been on it before so didn't know what to expect but had no issues. We didn't go to AK last trip but i think i would have gone on the safari too. Have a blast I love saying my up coming trip with my daughter will be here second because last time she was in mommy's belly!

So all you Moms who have visited Disney while pregnant, what are the rides you rode during your pregnancy? We have a trip planned for April and just wondering if I could ride ANYTHING if I was pregnant (though actively trying to avoid it until after the trip haha)? I recall most things I rode last time saying pregnant women should not ride.

However, airfare is nonrefundable and this is our last trip until after we have a baby, so we WILL be going...but just trying to plan in case I do end up being in my first trimester during out trip.

I did my last trip with out a baby a year ago this weekend, i was only 10 weeks and when i booked didn't think i would be pregnant. But we had a blast, and i ATE EVERYTHING!

I went on the following in (MK,Epcot DHS we didn't go to AK):
Buzz Light year
Pirates of the Caribbean
Haunted Mansion
Carousel of Progress
Transit mover
River Boat
The Sea
Living with the land
Project tomorrow
Figment
Movie ride
Toy Story Mania
Plus lots of shows (Laugh Factory, Hall of Presidents DH Favorite, Country Bear Jamboree, Turtle talk with Crush, Fantasmic, Muppet Vision etc)
Would have done Small World but it was closed

I am sure i went on others, or there were things i could have gone on but didn't. I was going to do Soarin but didn't have a fast pass and didn't want to wait, things like that. I enjoyed the trip a ton, and even got some small items for the baby, we did a lot of shows, and stuff things we sometimes skip. I would recommend if you want to start trying, try, unless you LOVE the rides that you def can't go on, Tower of terror, Space Mountain, Rock n Roller Coaster etc.

I'm probably going to do TSM, thanks all for your input. I'll be 20 weeks during the trip and plan on doing most everything except for the bigger rides of course. We have a FP for Soarin, I don't see why a pregnant women can't ride that. We're just going to skip AK. Ahhh I can't wait! :cool1:

Go and have fun! You can have a great time! I'm local, so we went often when I was pregnant (my son was born this May). Actually, we went on my due date to take my mind off the fact that I wasn't in labor since I always go past my due date. MK is the best for pregnant mamas because there are some rides you can actually ride. I did Buzz, Peter Pan, HM, Jungle Cruise, People Mover to take a load off. I can't remember if we did Pirates. There's a little drop there, so I may have passed on that one with such a huge belly and aching hips.

The one thing I do remember was Small World. It is NOT easy to get in and out of those boats when you are 40 weeks pregnant! And my belly was so big by then, I felt like I was in a good position to give birth in those super-low seats. ;)

I never thought of TSMM being a problem. I'm planning on riding it when I'm there at 23w. I can see how the bouncing in Safari could be a problem so I was planning on skipping that one. As for Soarin.... does that one carry a warning? I can't imagine it does but even if it did I would be riding that one as it looks like DD will just hit the requirements for that ride.

I would never even give TSM a second thought pregnant. For the Safari, just request the front row. Its no worse than some of the country roads around here. Basically, my rule of thumb is that if it is worse than a car ride, don't ride. Very few rides in WDW are worse than a normal car ride ;)

Basically the only things I didn't ride when pregnant were Splash, Big Thunder, Space, Test Track, RnR, ToT, Dinosaur, Everest, Primeval Whirl, Barnstormer, Tea Cups and 7DMT (well, that wasn't there when I was pregnant but I would have skipped it).

No, there's no warning for pregnancy on Soarin. Hubby and I have never rode this together...can't wait!

There is no warning for Soarin'. I did it without a problem. :goodvibes

The safari is much less bumpy than the rut-filled road that leads to the cabin on my parents' farm. :)

I rode both last week without issue.

I am 27 weeks along.

Usually I do avoid safari--but you are right as it wasn't bumpy at all.

I went at 5 months pregnant and TSMM was totally fine foe me. There were a couple herkie jerkin spins, but not bad. My doc advised no Safari until after 20 weeks dye to development and attachment of placenta. She said she herself ride at 8 months and while uncomfortable, she was fine, but that she didn't recommend for earlier pregnancy. So I followed that. Soarin was totally fine. I didn't do Test Track, Rockin' Roller Coaster, Expedition Everest, or BTMRR.

Also found that the railroad was a godsend for achy ligaments!

Have a great time! I'm now returning with the baby I was pregnant with on that visit. The "baby" is five, and it will be all the more special to revist the rides I skipped last time and ride them with her for the first time :-)

I rode the safari at about 20 weeks (late last year) and it was way too bumpy for me. My butt left the seat at least twice. It wasn't a safety issue so much as a comfort issue. It was my third pregnancy and everything was much, well, looser and sore. For example, I had to take a brick paved road to my midwife's office and even that was uncomfortable for me after the halfway point of my pregnancy. So anyone who is already uncomfortable with bumpy roads may want to avoid it. Or at least sit up front. But it should be safe for most healthy, pregnant women.

:rotfl2: Yes this is probably true for some of the roads around here too! Ahh we're just going to skip AK.
