Tshirts at DL

OK, silly question. Been to WDW many times and Disney a d other themed TShirts are common park wear. Is it similar at DL or does Cali cool frown on whimsy. As I said probably a silly question.


I'll be going Mid November with my last and only trip being when I was Four before WDW existed and Uncle Walt was on the TV every Sunday.

Thanks for any packing advice

I'm sorry, are you asking if it's okay to wear Disney t shirts at Disneyland?

Um...YES!!! California doesn't in any way frown on that. It's practically a cultural requirement.

I totally wear themed shirts at DL. My current favorite is "Park hopping is my cardio" with a few of the icons (castle, Cathay, Wheel of Death and something else I can't remember right now). I also have a "The mountains are calling and I must go!" with the Disneyland mountains.

I think it's less of a thing than at WDW; you don't generally see a million "Smith Family Vacation 2021, I'm Grandma Smith!" like at WDW, but there's enough that you'll have company in similar shirts. And there's plenty of Disneyland specific things that people are wearing all over!

after going to both DLR and WDW recently, I'd say its about the same in popularity as far as folks wearing themed shirts

We went to DL three weeks ago and there were more folks wearing Disney tee shirts and dresses, Mickey ear headbands and baseball caps then I've ever seen. Some vacation family groups were wearing matching outfits, as well as quite a few bride and birthday groups.

Thanks for all the kind replies. I think I just was overthinking the whole thing.
I save the Disney shirts just for my trips which makes them extra special and am glad they'll get to see the west coast.
Now if I can just figure out what else to pack...

@LukeJ. You are overthinking it, but that's okay. Wear the shirts and enjoy them. One trip, I wore a TaleSpin shirt and got a thumbs up from Stitch. On a different trip, Chip and Dale were very excited when they saw my Rescue Rangers shirt. When we passed by a castmember near security at the exit at the end of the day he sang part of the theme song.

Sweatshirts and/or a jacket for the morning and evenings for sure.

DL definitely has more ears, those super popular "sweatshirts" (I forget what they're called) and certainly more of those bubble wands!

I think it is super fun to see so many people of all different demographics who wear all different types of Disney shirts at DL and CA. No one ever looks out of place.

Yes! I went 3 weeks ago and brought a themed T for each day. I did end up buying a hoodie because it got chilly at night.

Oh yes…my crazy friend and I plan a different outfit for each day..one day it’s Jack Sparrow, one day Princesses, another Tinkerbell, Nightmare Before Christmas. We usually go at Christmas time so that makes it extra festive. She makes us ears to match. Dressing for Disney is part of the fun so go wild!!!

Yeah, I would say I see MORE people wearing their Disney wardrobe at DL then at WDW. The "Disneyland People" are very intense and they do it up. If anything, you may feel like just wearing a Disney t-shirt isn't enough. Get the matching ears too! I also see way more Disney themed tatoos there. Make no mistake, Disneyland IS California Cool!

Spirit Jerseys! They are way more popular in Anaheim because of the weather. People buy them in Orlando, but they don't wear them in Orlando!

If anything, I have to make a conscientious effort to Not be in head to toe Disney wear when I'm not at the parks. There have been times when I have felt a little silly running out for an errand after work, but oh well...

The Disneybounding is also strong at Disneyland. My own son bounds every single time we go there. Although, last time he bounded as candy corn. He's keeping with the theme, though. This weekend he plans to wear head to toe white with a Mickey head logo cap. I asked what he was being and he said "Ghost Mickey."

He also plans to be the Pixar ball in the near future.

I have a bright green t shirt with the words "Never Grow Up" on it and I wear it around town proudly. I love it and it's my life philosophy.
