Is there a set time during the year when this TSA issue with the shutdowns occur? I remember hearing last year after they opened the government back up, that there was another date in early 2026 that it could go back down again, and here we are.

TSA PRE-CHECK was shut down for a minute, but rolled back almost immediately. They are starting up Global Entry as well.

Are you asking about a new Pre-Check shut down, or something else? And honestly, with the state of things right now, I don't know if anyone is going to have a clue.

No, there isn’t. The shut downs have only occurred because Congress could not come to an agreement on funding the government. What had been happening was they would agree on short, temporary funding to avoid shutdowns. They did not do that last fall, so because there was no agreement & no temporary funding, the prolonged shutdowns happened. When the last funding agreement happened, it only provided temporary funding for Homeland Security with the intent Congress would negotiate & solve the ICE issues before it was fully funded. They did not reach an agreement, so the temporary funding ran out. Now agencies of Homeland Security, including TSA, are working, but there is no money to pay them. There is no way to know if or when Congress will reach an agreement & funding will be restored. There is also no way to know if they will agree on permanent or temporary funding. If they only fund temporarily, the whole mess could happen again when that runs out.
