Hi
A couple of questions hope someone can advise.

Firstly DH, DS(14) and myself going to Orlando (I Drive) for 2 weeks so far have booked 2 day Universal, DC with Seaworld and 1 day shopping excursion. Any suggestions what else to book, we have been before in 2000 but DS was a lot younger then and was easily pleased and basically did what we wanted to do!! Not the case now!! We are non-drivers so any suggestions with travel arrangements would be great!
We are all not keen on big rollercoaster rides etc DS loves sport, especially basketball.

Also, can anyone point me in the direction of a place to buy the padlocks for suitcases that can be opened by US customs if need be?

We have booked with Thomas Cook signature and are flying with Virgin does the baggage allowance change effect us (dep June 06)??

We bought some from House of Fraser, we did buy some in the USA which were cheaper.

House of Fraser ones were £5.50 each.

Thanks for that will go and get some.

I'm trying to make up a booklet to take with us with some handy tips but have found that much info on here, might need more than a booklet!!

Hi, I got a pack of two in Tesco for £5.99. A littel bit cheaper!! :)

I wish had seen the Tesco ones. I might even get some more, do they have a indicator that shows the case has been opened.

Does anyone use flight socks to help prevent DVT?? I have been told that especially because I have had a broken leg I should use flight socks on long flights. Not sure if its true but surely better being safe than sorry.

Since the TSA only require baggage to be unlocked or TSA approved locked on the return flighht (ie exiting the US), why not wait and purchase the TSA approved locks in the US - where they appear to be cheaper?

The locks I bought in Tescos are called Royal Traveller by Samsonite (£5.99 for 2)

They are Travel Sentry Certified. Each lock has a special id mark alerting the TSA that they can open the lock without destroying it. Each lock has a special TSA code so they can open the bg for inspection.

I am sure if the TSA open your bag they place a ticket inside your case stating that the case has been opened but dont quote me on that

Jackie :)

Tracey - the best colour ;) :teeth:

I ordered some TSA locks from a company in florida a couple of years ago - I'll look out the details tomorrow morning for you.

Hi :thumbsup2 sorry it took me so long to find the details - anyway I ordered these a couple of years ago before we last flew to USA. These are TSA approved locks from a Florida company - I was very pleased with the prompt service. The company is www.tamperseal.com. Two of our four cases were opened flying both in and out of USA - this is visible on the lock as the indicator turns from green to red. Hope this is not too late for you! :rolleyes1
