TSA body scanner and spirit jerseys anyone have trouble?

I have pre-check, but was randomly selected for additional screening at MCO about a year ago and had to go through the body scanners. I was wearing a Spirit Jersey that apparently was too baggy in the armpit, so it was flagged. They literally patted my arm and let me go on my way.

You say that until its you who they stop and pull aside and ask a bunch of questions to and have your hands swabbed and your lower body patted down and the embarrassment of everyone watching trying to figure out what caused you to be flagged. Then after all that they had me go through again and the same areas lit up so they decided it was just the texture of my velour pants and how it was laying on my body.
I knew I wasn't doing anything wrong but it can feel like that at the time and I got all sweaty and nervous which didn't help.

Think ........... Will you see those people ( Who you think are staring at you ) EVER again .?

I had "free" precheck and don't know what it was, but everything lit up. I wear my hair just combed back in a braid. The TSA was patting the top of my head like a dog. Full pat down, even pulled on my waist band. After forever, I was told ok, you can go. How can hot spots show up all over the place for nothing?

I'd like to wear a Disney spirit jersey on my flights as I'll be arriving at night and leaving very early in the morning so they shouldn't be too hot.
I'm just concerned that due to their bagginess and glitter puff paint they may pose an issue at security during the body scanner.
I once wore a pair of velour leggings on a flight and was flagged on the body scanner and even though it was quite clear I was not hiding anything wearing skin tight pants they still felt up and down my entire lower half.
So now I get worried about what clothing items may effect the scanner reading.
Anyone out there wearing a spirit jersey through TSA screening?
I've been wearing one home for my last 7 trips and never had an issue. You'll be fine.

Ok, after reading this post I'm going to change my answer. Don't wear it. If you're this concerned/worried and being pulled to the side is going to negatively impact you that much; then it's best to just avoid it. Everyone has different tolerance levels for different things and it seems the chance of you going through "extra" security is something that's a big deal for you so if I were you I'd wear something I've worn before with no issue. Still no guarantee, but should help. For many ppl. getting pulled to the side is not something that would have a major impact on them which I think is why ppl. were feeling like you were overthinking it and it wouldn't ve a big deal. Always do what you think is best for what you're ok with. You know yourself best.

I got the extra pat down once for wearing smoothing shorts under my knit dress. Apparently there was something in the fabric that set off the detector. The woman doing the pat down said “What you got going on under there?” in such a funny way that the experience wasn’t too stressful. I’ve also been flagged for the zippers on my cargo tights and other minor stuff. It’s never been a big deal.

I try to avoid anything with glitter, sparkles, sequins, spangles, or metallic thread. If I do wear this kind of stuff, I get searched every time. The time my laptop got pulled and wiped was scary though, and they wiped my hands, too. I manage organic chemistry labs and knew exactly what the issue was, as I knew what I had been working with that week, but I got to experience "TSA, up close and personal," had to answer a LOT of questions, and almost missed my flight!

My carryon bags get searched 100% of the time and I get searched about 50% of the time. The joys of traveling with medical equipment and supplies, including medical liquids that exceed the 3-1-1 rule. I therefore plan on security taking 30 minutes, not counting the time spent in line. If it takes less I am happy. For me, not a big deal, its the price of flying.

Now, one time, when they swabbed one of my carryon it tripped their explosives test. THAT was an interesting experience. It took more than my planned for 30 minutes at security, more searching and swabbing of bags and me, lots of questions, forms to fill out, and attention from multiple security people, though they were very professional and pleasant about it. I don't know what caused it, however all of my personal care products (shampoo, body wash, hand soap, etc) contain glycerin, so that is a possibility.

I agree with the previous poster... if you are concerned a piece of clothing is going to be an issue, don't wear it at the airport. Pack it or leave it home. When I fly I wear clothes that are comfortable, functional, and safety-minded (sneakers, natural fibres like cotton.... I have been on three planes that have had to do emergency landings and am cognizant of the possibility of needing to quickly evacuate a plane) and part of that is also that make getting through security as easy as possible -- eg no belt, if possible no metal buttons or zipper, layers.
