I will be going on my first solo trip at the end of April. It is kind of a last minute deal with an AP rate. Most TS restaurants I like to eat at have no availabilty. What are the chances of walking up and getting in without a ADR? Are there any bar seats at any of the TS? Thanks for the help.

I don't have a lot of experience with it, but I've had very little luck. The only times I have been able to walk up and get a seat was early-mid afternoons, mid week, in Germany, France, and Morrocco at Epcot. I've always been turned away at dinner times, even at those places, and have never gotten a seat anywhere else I've asked (Mexico, Canada, Liberty Tree Tavern, Brown Derby). But, that's just me. :)

My favorite bar seating is tune in lounge at 50s prime time. Full dinner or lunch menu and no issues getting in. Coral Reef for an early lunch gets you in no problem, and Fultons Crab House at Downtown Disney never requires a ressie. . .longest wait was 15 minutes. . .Tony's Town Square is usually good also for lunch at MK. . .sometimes a 25 minute wait but usually no issues as long as your party is less than 4.

I can tell you that I made a solo trip to WDW at the end of March. I only had one TS meal and it was a character meal at CP. I had missed my 10:15 ADR but went there at 11:30 when lunch was starting. They told me I had to wait until 12:00 to see if any tables were available. I checked at 12:00 and they told me 30 to 40 minute wait. I put my name on the list at 12:05 and was seated at 12:06! Probably easier to get a table for 1 quickly than a table for 4 or 5.

I also got into the 50's pretty fast too. Only a five minute wait at 11:00 am. So yeah it can be done!

Have fun!

Thanks for the replies. I heard Ohana's has a bar, true? If so, a single walk up may have a shot there for dinner I hope.

Out of curiosity, how is it doing character dining solo? I didn't do any character meals on my last solo trip, but I'm thinking about Chef Mickey's on my next one. Is character dining weird solo?

I know when I was in Epcot at the Italy Pavillion (tutto ? Feburary) the inside resturant was full for lunch be we waited 10 min and got a nice outside seat. Weather was a good day to be outside anyway.

I do have suggestions for solo meals. . .

Coral Reef: Go for lunch. Be seated and enjoy the waitstaff interaction. Very nice.

Bistro de Paris: Your waitstaff will be most attentive and you will have no problem getting in.

50s Prime Time: Sit at the Tune In Lounge and interact with the Bartenders. Lots of fun and good wholesome food. . .

character dining solo is not weird at alll!!! its very enjoyable. as far as character meals go .. ive dined solo at chef micekys, crystal palace and 1900 park fare. its great! your waiter/waitress or fellow diners are very willing and happy to take pics of you with the characters.
