supposed to leave on saturday now not sure if we should postpone trip @ this point. Anyone else in the same situation?

it is entirely too soon to change any plans, this storm is at least 5 days away from possibly hitting FL and has a better chance of turning north and missing FL altogether (it really looks like it is more of a carolina problem than a FL one, heck i might be safer at disney than at home).

wait until later this week, but even then I really wouldn't worry about it

p.s I'm leaving sat for Disney so we are in the same boat. I'm More worried about the remains of IVan give me problems on my drive than i am worried about Jeanne

Thanks Harlock! I needed some positive feedback! My husband & sister-in-law are being so negative!! Let's hope it heads elsewhere. Florida does not need another Hurricane!!!

We are also leaving on Saturday and do not plan on changing it.

Enjoy your trip - I can't wait :hyper:

I am leaving sunday no matter what. I just hope Ivan doesn't mess up my flight

Im leaving the coast of VA and going down on Sunday. I agree with the last post that I am more worried about rain and stuff from Ivan than Jeanne. She's not going to be an issue for 8-10 days out and I think she is going to be more of a problem for NC and SC than FL
:umbrella: :umbrella: :umbrella: :umbrella: :umbrella: Just grab and umbrella and come on down, lol

We are leaving on Sunday to head down to WDW. We plan on going unless things get REALLY bad between now and then. We are taking DGS. OTHER grandma and great grandma are having FITS that we are taking him when there are hurricanes. Like I would ever put that sweet boy in any danger....NOT! I love him so much we would never do anything to harm him. Truthfully though I guess if it were reversed I would worry too. ;)

Wow, I'm surprised to see everyone here planning on going still. We are also supposed to leave Sat and I just checked the forecast and it's not good. They are predicting thunderstorms for the next ten days.

I can't quite decide what to do- this week is our reschedule from Frances, but I hate to spend all those points and miles to sit inside during a week of nasty weather.

So even if Jeanne doesn't arrive, it doesn't sound like it'll be a nice week. Boo Hoo

from what i have seen on the web, the weather does not appear to look too bad. yeah a chance of thunderstorms but that is normal in humid weather, esp. in florida. There is plenty to do in WDW even if it does rain. We are leaving on Saturday & crossing our fingers that Jeanne moves her path. I am not up for rescheduling @ this point b/c with my luck the week i reschedule there will be 2 more on the way!

This is my main concern. We leave Saturday afternoon.

Tiffsix, your leaving time is so close to mine, and you are from Jersey, I wonder if you are on my flight???? Are you leaving out of Newark by any chance?

Hi folks we live in Canada, and this is our first post. I use to live in Orlando and I can tell you that everyone is correct about the thunderstorm forecast, it does in fact rain almost 3-4 times a week during the summer at between 2:00pm and 4:00pm. However, if in fact the TS does come close to the coast Orlando will get thunderstorms from the bands moving over FL. This could mean extended rain-showers for the day before the storm reaches the mainland and a couple days after.

We have decided to post-pone our Vacation to the beginning of October; no guarantee that we will get any better weather, but statistically speaking October is the time of year the rainy season starts to let off.

We originally were planning on leaving this Saturday for Orlando, now we are departing Sep 30th.

Cheers,
Lee and Cathy

we normally fly out of Newark but this time we are flying out of Philly b/c of cheaper air. Have a safe trip!

We're leaving 30 hours from now, no matter what!

Although the forecast for Saturday morning in NYC is terrible, hope my flight isn't delayed :worried:

Checked the weather on the orlando sentinel website and it looks pretty darn good for the next 5 days. Chance of rain only 30%. Typical afternoon showers. Tropical storm Jeanne's path also looked updated on the sentinel site to be adjusted more eastward. Things are defintely looking up weather wise in my opinion. I hope so cause I leave this afternoon. In any case I will bring my rain poncho just in case!

Hmmmmm that is not the image that orlando sentinel was showing. I am hoping the one on orlando sentinel was more accurate..... I guess these are all so different because of the varying models out there. I guess it is a wait and see thing. Check out the projected path on www.orlandosentinal.com. I tried to paste it in here but I wasn't sure how to do that. Always has to be something to keep us guessing...

Tina,

It's the same path pointing towards jacksonville.
