Well, it looks like there's a possibility that a storm might hit Florida this week. (just in time for our vacay) :headache:

My question is...what are my options if we can't fly into Florida. Do we lose the deposit on the RPR room? Or can we reschedule?

Thanks!

when are you leaving? And where are you coming from? We are leaving Tuesday out of Newark NJ and it looks ok If the storm comes to FL it is looking like it will come on Friday, we leave Monday so I am a little concerned if it tracks up the coast. Good luck see you in FL!!

I wouldnt let it ruin my vacation...it still has a LOT of things to get through before it gets to FL...Its doutbtful it would ruin anything..

Hi neighbor!! :) We are flying from DC. So yeah, I'm hoping it doesn't track up the east coast either. We leave Wed and fly back on Mon. I'm concerned about flying back in bad weather but I'm sure they will reroute if it's really bad, no?

Thanks Dax! You are so right. We can't stop nature, right? I honestly don't mind the rain itself...it's Fl after all, but what if it's so bad that they cancel the flight? I'm afraid of losing the nights deposit....one night at NICK and one at RPH. That would not be cool.

We are not leaving until 7:50pm on Monday..I am a little concerned, but hey..it is the end of vacation so I can live with it!! Re route the flights or if it was bad enough I guess they would cancel them. We will see!!

I don't believe the hotels will charge you if you don't show because of a hurricane. Just make sure you let them know asap.

Me and my Wife leaves Friday morning at 8:45am out of Memphis. Not looking so good. Has this ever happen to anyone else? We have the Vacation protection plan.

from the UO website regarding severe weather:

the No Questions Asked policy is very lenient

There is still a lot of time for Irene to move a bit. Our local weather here in Charleston, SC says there is a good chance it will move out into the Atlantic and hit further up than FL (more likely to hit SC). I wouldn't be too concerned today. The weather people LOVE all the drama!! Believe me, I live with this stuff every fall. Give it a few more days and worse case for Orlando - pack your ponchos!!

If you look at weather underground models, the hurricane should pass in the Atlantic and not directly hit Florida. You may get some rain but no storm.

I can't post images but look on their website!

The 7:00 local news stated a new track was due out at 11:00pm but it appears the storm is drifting to the East which is great news for FL. Let's hope it continues this trend.

We have already gone into Hurricane mode here. I wouldn't worry about Florida. It looks as though NC is in trouble with this one. Charging the flashlights, and getting the outdoor furniture ready!

We are here today and weather has been good. It rained but no more than usual. ;)

Me too. Spent about three hours in the late afternoon/early evening tonight at both parks and crowds seemed light to moderate at worst and the breeze kept the temps down a bit. I somehow missed the rain. :)
