Trying To Make Sure I Have This Correct

We have 3 nights at AKV in October. The first 2 nights it is just me and one son. The last night my husband and other son will arrive on the ME. There is a slight chance a friend of mine and her son will drive to WDW with me and my one son. (2 1/2 day drive) She and her son would spend the first two nights with us and then leave when my husband and other son arrive. Originally we thought no big deal we could get her the ME. No dining plan is involved here.

I spoke to MS the other day. She said my husband and second son would be on the reservation the whole time, just the ME arrangements would be for the last night. Having my friend and her son the first two nights is no big deal, just let the front desk know what you are doing. But she said that my friend could not schedule the ME now. She said that I had three choices.
1) split up my reservation into 2 days and 1 day. This as you know would mean canceling the one I had and risking loosing it all
2) wait until we are at the AKV and see if the front desk could make arrangements for her when we were all there, MS thought there was most likely that they could take care of it but there is a chance she would be stuck and have to pay for a cab or other way to the airport
3) my friend could plan to stay one more night but get a room elsewhere, and move over there on the last night with her son. And she would move for real because 3 adults and 3 small children would be a bit too much for a studio even one night

Seeing as how I have already been confused by MS with misinformation, I wanted to make sure I had this all correct.

My friend is a Disney addict and AP holder so sending her off to another resort the last night is not a big deal. She would rather have an extra night at WDW then pay to get to the airport anyway. She has not agreed yet but I want to make sure we did the right thing if and when she does.

Thanks!

And you're all staying in a studio?

We have a studio reserved. First two nights would be me, my son, my friend and her son. Both boys are 4. The last night would be me, my husband, and both my young sons. There would never be more then 4 in the room.

I think the problem you are running into is the occupancy for the studio. If you had a larger accommodation they could set up the ME. We've had people arrive on different days and leave on different days and it's been possible to schedule them right away but we could have all of them on the reservation for the whole stay.

I don't think you would want to do the split anyway b/c the reservation couldn't be linked (all names on both reservations have to be the same for linking) and you might run into a problem of having to change rooms. To my knowledge that leaves options 2 or 3.

No problem with the capacity as the friend is only staying the first two nights when the DH is there.

In order to have ME reservation, she would need her name on a room reservation. I think her moving over to her own room for that last night should qualify her. I don't see why she can't take the ME two days before her room ressie. Hopefully, someone will come along soon that can confirm/deny this.

Since she will be driving with me then she only needs ME to get home.

Thanks for the replies! Like I said I wanted to make sure I had this correct and it sounds like I do.

I did not mean that they would be over occupancy on any particular night but they are over occupancy to have everyone listed on the reservation. If it were a 1 BR then they could list 6 people and have ME schedule for any date and time. With a studio you can't do that. The room size is limiting the options available for them to do what they want.
