We have a 6 night stay at the Poly in Jan and just booked a 3 night offsite stay for Dec 2-5. I booked my fastpasses for the Dec trip yesterday and went to book my fastpasses for our January trip today when the window opened and I was only able to make a few days worth before I kept getting a message saying we had reached our limit of fastpasses. I called IT and was told that I can only book 7 days of fastpasses regardless of whether it is two separate trips or not. This is ridiculous . I paid for a 6 night stay at the Poly with annual passes and can only book 3 days of fastpasses??! Very po'd right now, especially considering I spent over an hour on the phone with them.

With an AP, you can book only 7 days of FPs at one time, unless the number of nights you are staying on site is >7 (and then you can book days of FP equal to on-site nights).

In your case, after each day of your off-site visit in December (where you used FPs), you'll be able to book an additional day at the end of your on-property trip.

Yup, that's exactly what they told me. In over 60 onsite trips I've never run up against this. Oh well, got my FOP fp for Jan at least.

Yeah, it's the off-property trip that throws a wrench into things AP and FP wise.

Yes, if both were on-site then you could have booked FPs for every day, including over 7 days.

Some APs find a nasty surprise if they book an offsite stay for over 7-days. Then they can’t even book full advance FPs for their entire trip!

That still isn't clear to me. It doesn't say passholders with an onsite stay can book up to seven days UNLESS they have an offsite trip booked as well.

There are a lot of things that are not covered by Disney's FAQs.
These are the very many "unanticipated situations" created when Disney added their
caveats for FP+ booking.
Guests can book situations that throw the conventional "FP rules" for a loop.

I was just shocked to have come up against this since we have been visiting 3-5 times a year for 17 years!

Advance booking of FP has only been in existence for about the past 5 years.

We ran into this problem years ago during Star Wars weekends. We'd stay onsite everyThursday to Monday. Because when we booked offsite, it messed with the FP+. Also I couldn't book FP+ days in between those SWW stays because it would automatically revert back to 7 days. Haven't done any stays like that since SWW ended.
