OK weighing many pros and cons One more question..

What is likelihood of BWV or BCV giving extension to current owners in the near future? Wife wants home preferably at those two but I just can't throw out pro of having 12+ years more timeshare a homes like AKV or OKW extensions or even SSR

Anyone have any crystal ball guesses?

An extension at a deluxe-attached DVC would depend on the Deluxe hotel deciding they could and want to operate the hotels as-is without major changes.

If there happened to be something structuraly deficient that really required demo, then they may not extend, but if there is any way for Disney to "easily" make more money by offering extensions, they will.

I guess, of the 2 resorts, BCV could operate more independently (used to have it's own check-in) of BC than BWV/BW and might be more likely to be easily extended. But SAB may or may not have the infrastructure to keep going pas 2042 without major costs?

Of course, the other factor, YC is 1 of only 3 remaining Deluxe resorts without a DVC. If they add a DVC to YC, they may also have to offer an extension to BVC/BWV?

even if they offered an extension to either, the price would probably be unreasonable as the OKW extension was. DVC charged $15-25 per pt to extend your contract...you'd be lucky to get $5-7 of that back in resale value.

in addition to the hotel-attachment issue, my guess is there may be some legal challenges to OKW's extension that might make DVC balk at offering future extensions elsewhere. i'd be willing to bet that no other extensions will be offered in the next 4-5 years unless that is completely resolved.

I suggest buying BCV. If and when they offer an extension... we're in! We added on BLT last year, so we have that till 2060 either way.
