Trying to help a fellow Dis'er

Ok, they posted that they currently have a package with AAA and that if a better rate comes out the agent told them they could apply that to their reservation.

I had always thought that you can't apply a discount code to a package and mentioned that because it would suck if they were led to believe that and its not true. But they were told otherwise.

Does anyone know for sure??
