I don't like drops & heights. The 3 rides I refuse to ride are TOT, RRC, and Everest. Didn't ride Splash mountain last time either. I heard the theming is amazing on Everest. Is there a point I could duck out but still see the majority of it? I heard you can duck out at the elevators at TOT...We probably won't be back for about 5 years, so I really would like to conquer Everest. I love BTMRR and even Space Mtn. Can you compare Everest to these?

I also was afraid of all of those rides but I forced myself to them and now EE is my favourite ride. Try it, just might surprise yourself :) and EE is just BTMRR on steroids. It's a lot if fun and the theming is unreal!

Just take a bonine, that will help a little. And there are no huge drops on EE. Compared to BTMR, its a little higher but not much. I find it much more pleasant to ride than Space, because on that ride you never know what is about to happen to your body. EE is one of my favorite rides ever. How did somebody convince you to ride Space and not convince you to ride EE?

I can do a bigger roller coaster like EE easier than SM ! The view is pretty cool, so high up over WDW. And the theme is very well done. I would try to make yourself do it once unless you think you will get sick. I have vertigo issues and do fine on EE. The backward part is the scariest but you don't ever go upside down like RnRC.

ToT had me scared for years but I finally did it on my 6th trip to Disney and was so happy. Last trip I rode ToT several times including at midnight with my 19 yo son during eve. emh.... a great memory for us! :wizard:

The drop is a lot bigger than the drops on BTMRR...however it's not an intense rollercoaster. It's a lot of fun and over before you know it. You could go through the queue to see the displays inside, and then take the chicken exit right before boarding. But imo it wouldn't be worth the wait just to see the stuff if you're not riding. Most of the great visuals are during the ride.

Just don't think about it, get in line, and have fun riding it. It's a fun coaster. Then you can work your way to loops and corkscrews on RnR, which isn't bad at all either

In order to try something, I think you have to tell yourself that you'll try it one time and it'll be over in 3 or 4 minutes.
I was reluctant to try TOT, finally did as I heard the theming was very good and did try it. I'll never do that again as the drop was enormous but was glad to try it. Everest I tried and liked it and have done it multiple times. But whether you like it or not, you feel better that you tried it once anyway. Everest is there 200 ft in the air staring at you all day long reminding you and it is hard to avoid.
Once you do something once, you can then give your fastpasses to other family members but until then, everybody will bug you about it.

If you don't like drops and still want to conquer the mountain sit on the front row or closer to the front row, the drop won't feel as fast.
Every ride at Disney has a "chicken exit" so you can still do the standby line and duck out.

The way I got myself on SM was to look at all the people coming off the ride and telling myself they are all ok! They didn't fall off the ride!!
Also it might help to be in line near a 5 year old- I mean if a little kid can do the ride, you surely can!

That being said, I have gone on EE just one time- and that will forever be both my first and my last ride on EE !

I do not like normal roller coasters, with the big, high hill and drop. But I love Disney roller coasters. RNRC doesn't really have a drop. Just loops that you can't even really tell because it's dark. TOT is inside, so that largely mitigates my fear of heights. And EE has some drops, but not huge and not just out in space like a normal roller coaster. You are kind of in the mountain, so it doesn't get my fear of heights like normal roller coasters. I would really encourage you to give it a try, as a fellow hater of heights and drops. None of these bother me at all.

In my opinion, Space is scarier.
I haven't ridden Space in years but I brave Everest. And I'm not a roller-coaster person anymore... Just the tame ones. I'm also afraid of heights so I just close my eyes on the descent up the mountain. It's SO worth it- Everest is amazing!! Now we ride it two times in a row every visit:)

I had to laugh a little because the three rides you mention are the exact same three that I vowed I would never ride (although I thoroughly enjoy Space, BTMRR and Splash). Then a few years ago my DDIL talked me (and my son - same feelings as me) to try them at least once just to say we've conquered them. Now Everest and RRC are my two favorite rides and I'll ride them as much as I can!! And finally I even rode TOT with my DSIL because no one else would ride with him. While not my favorite, I'll ride it each time now just to give my DSIL a riding buddy. No more sitting on the sidelines for me!

I am exactly like you. I hate drops (they make me very sick) and refuse to ride ToT and RRC. I do Splash Mountain because it's a classic and "must-do." Also, the drop on that ride is quick enough that it's over before I have enough time to get sick.

With that said, I have done EE once in 2009. Most of the ride is fine. From what I remember, it was very smooth and most of the "drops" were at an angle (like how BTMR curves instead of drops straight down). I feel like these kinds of curved drops don't make me nearly as sick and I enjoy them. The only part that I was screaming my head off was the backwards part. There is at first, a straight backwards drop, this curves around, but you're in the dark and can't see the track and know how the coaster is moving or how long you'll be going backwards. My advice for that part is to 1) scream a lot because it distracts you from that uncomfortable feeling in your stomach. 2) Plant your feet firmly on the floor of the car because I've read it helps "ground" you and 3) I tried to turn my head around to feel like I was going forwards instead of backwards. This doesn't work too well because you're strapped in, but it's worth a shot.

I've chickened out during the 2 times I've been since 2009, but I'm going again in August and plan to force myself to ride. It didn't kill me the first time and I didn't get sick (did feel shaky for a little while afterwards) and I felt like 75% of the ride was very fun, so I want to try it again!! Also, try finding POV videos on YouTube so you can get an idea of what to expect.

I tried to be as honest as possible, so hopefully this helps you out!

Just think of it this way.. I think the height requirement on all of those is 44" or less. So if Disney thought they were appropriate for 4&5 year olds..then they can't be too scary right? :).

We went to AK almost specifically for EE.. It's great! Not a big coaster at all. You will probably enjoy it!

While I've done Space Mountain, RNR and Everest, they are all one and dones for me. I'm also a ride chicken and hate the drops, dips and turns. However, I love ToT!
