This will be my Husbands first time to go to Disney. He is almost 38. I dont think he was ever even on a "real" vacation. He has been to many different places with being in the military since he graduated from high school but that is about it. I have been in Disney about 5 times, and of course love it!! :cloud9: We also have 2 girls ages 1 and 4. Disney is all I talk about, and he just says ya, ya, ya. I really dont think he is too impressed with what I am talking about. :confused3 I know I am more then likely driving him nuts because every day that is all I talk about. Maybe I am trying to get him to say "of yeah", or something besides ya, ya, ya. :confused3 I guess he is a pretty hard guy to impress. I just wish he would get excited about something already. I really thinkg that he thinks, it going to be like any other "park" around here. Hopefully once we get down there it will change his mind.

I have been going through this since we first decided to go 4 years ago. My DH is 35 and this will also be his first time. I have not been for 12 years so it is almost like my first time again since it has been so long. He would never want to talk about it and that is all I could think about. Well finally about 3-4 weeks ago I could finally hear the excitement in his voice. We are 21 days away and finally we are both looking forward to it. I just don't think he has any idea what to expect from Disney. Even though he has watch the planning DVD's and stuff I think he is still clueless.

Hope your DH gets excited soon!

Both of you ladies husbands sound similar to mine. He's 34 and has only been to Disney twice. We had a wonderful time, but he certainly doesn't hold Disney in the same regards as I do. That being said, the months before the actual trip I usually don't say much to him about the plans I have made. (This goes for any vacation we go on.) Once we are actually on vacation, he sees the happiness on the kids faces and joins in on the fun. I think this may be the trip I hook him into my Disney addiction!!!

Tcp0421, my DH was in the military for ten years and the only "vacations" he took were on deployments or TDY overseas without us. When we finally began to be able to really go on vacations as a family, it was hard for him to feel that he could relax. I think once your hubby sees your reaction, and the care and love you have put into planning the vacation, he will finally "get" what makes a Disney vacation so special.

Have a wonderful time with your family. :wave2:

I go through the same thing. Dh wants to go, we went last year too and he loved it while we were there, but there is absolutely no enthusiasm while we're waiting. This is all I talk about too and he never wants to hear it, well who else am I supposed to talk to about it ALL the time. You can only say so much to friends before they can no longer stand it. I'll talk to my kids when it gets a little closer, we still have to wait til march. I don't want to drive them nuts and get them all excited too early. I guess I should just be glad that he at least wants to go and spend all of our money there :)

I completely empathize. Our WDW trip is 150 days away. My husband is also 38 and has never been there. Our daughter will be 3 and is a Princess Fanatic. It took a lot of convincing and strong arming to get him to agree to the trip. I have been planning and making ADR's and every time I mention it he starts to pretend he's sleeping, fake yawning and snoring! He has no clue at all what a truly amazing place it is! The kicker is he actually LOVES amusement parks, even enjoys carnivals! He just says that right now it is too far away for him to get excited about it. So I try telling him about different attractions and restaurants and stuff, but he could care less!

I can't help it, I am sooooo excited. My parents are coming too. We booked a family suite at the All Star Music. And our best friends and their son are coming too. At least I have my mom and my friend to share planning with. But I am beginning to think that they may be getting tired of hearing about it too. That is why I have registered on the board. I want to share my excitement with people!

My boyfriend is the same way. He knows how excited I am and teases me about it...but says he would be ok with never going. He lets me go on and on but i know mostly he isn't listening. LOL I don't think he has ever been to DW more than a day at a time though...so hopefully this trip it sinks in. The only thing i worry about is we are going over Christmas so hopefully he will get into that spirit and not into how crazy busy crowded it probably will be (although i have warned him!).

That said, he knows how much I love Disney World so he has already agreed that we could spend 1 week of our honeymoon there. So I guess I don't have it as bad as some do.
