I just booked 2 rooms at the ASMo for Oct.25 to Nov.1 2003. I want to have preferred rooms but the CM told me all that was available were standard rooms. Should I just keep checking back since I am so far out with the dates? Thanks!!

Absolutely! Lots and lots of changes will take place before your 2003 vacation dates. Can't believe that you won't get what you want if you keep trying. Good luck!

Not available for 2003?? That is hard to believe. I would DEFFIENTLY call back. I called a couple weeks ago for this December and this was all that they had available.

WDW2002 is right, that is very strange! I thought we were the only people willing to pay extra for the prefered room. My thought is perhaps they are changing how they handle prefered rooms and the new policy is not yet in place. I would call back! Sometimes you have to call several times to get a CM that knows how to handle a certain situation. Good luck.We have stayed in the prefered rooms at ASMO and enjoyed it a lot. We are staying at Surff's up at ASSp this time and looking forward to it also.

All Star Movies fill up fast! Don't be discouraged though, keep trying. Also, keep in mind that this resort is just a little smaller and laid out really well, so even if you don't get a preferred room, it won't be really bad.

Personally I think the standard rooms are great as the Perferred rooms. I can't believe they are all booked already a year in advance, I too would keep trying
Good Luck.!

Just got off the phone a little while ago with CRO. Here's the scoop...they do have preferred rooms available, just not with DC discount. I asked about AAA discount and she told me I would have to call AAA travel to check on that. and the AP discount isn't out yet, it's in stand by mode (whatever that means). I will just keeping checking on the DC discount, hopefully it will become available.
We stayed in a preferred room at the ASMo a couple weeks ago and LOVED IT.

Thanks for all the posts.

Just for the info, I did book my prefered room at ASMo directly with CRO and used my AAA discount. This was this January and I had made my original reservation last June and amended it when the AAA rate of 60.61 came out later in the Summer. The CM was a little confused but I kept repeating what I needed and asked her if she needed to get someone to help her. She admitted she did need some help and found someone who could handle it. As it turned out they did not charge us the extra 10.00 at all. Prefered was on our room request at check in and I had no problems at all. A free upgrade for very little trouble. Keep trying till you get what you want.

The building. The building closest to the food court etc is deemed to be the "preferred" building. At ASMo, it is the Fantasia building.

IMO, the room we had in the Buzz building was closer to the bus stop (definitely) and food court than most of the rooms in Fantasia! I would ask to be in on of these rooms.
