Trying to get a Cabana at CC

Confession: I am presently a circling Cabana vulture.

I check CC port adventures two or three times a day hoping to get lucky and snap up a canceled cabana for my June 11th cruise on the Fantasy. Upon arrival, I'll be asking again at the port adventures desk and ask to be put on a waiting list.

Wish me luck!

This is my first disney cruise, so i'm just reading about the cabana rentals. How far in advance can we rent them, and are they only reserved for CC members (i hear a lot mention gold, platinum, silver, etc.). Excuse me for not knowing...we are going in March 2017 with my 3 and 5 year old as well as both sets of grandparents, so a cabana would be perfect. thanks for any help!

I managed to book a serenity bay cabana on our first cruise at 20 days out. I checked most days multiple times a day and one day an available one popped up and I snagged it before it disappeared again.

Our second cruise none were available and we decided to do activities that would take us away from the cabanas area anyway.

On our third cruise the grand cabana on the family beach was available briefly when i checked in early on the first checkin day, but with two of us it made no sense to get. Someone in our cruise's FB group had booked a family beach cabana and offered to share if anyone was interested, so we said yes and had a great time.

our fourth cruise, B2B with cruise #3, we decided to do the hike and kayak adventure which is a few hours, so no need for a cabana, but i did check in case we changed our mind and never saw one pop up.

They can be booked starting when you do online checkin, so whatever date that is for you. They are one of the "port adventures" for castaway Cay day that you can book online.

Anyone can book them BUT they are popular and are usually snapped up early. Since Concierge/Platinum and Gold members can checkin and start booking port adventures before silver and first time cruisers, it is often the case that Concierge or Platinum or Gold members have booked all of them already.

However, people change their minds, so sometimes a cabana will come free. On my first cruise I was able to book one 20 days out from the cruise, because I checked multiple times a day most days.

Don't give up hope. Always check with guest services when you board. We've gotten lucky and got one on SB (which we wanted), but there are three available on the FB.
