Trying to Decide...

We are in Disney until the 29th of June. I am thinking about extending our stay for one day so that we can visit DHS on opening day of Toy Story. I am not concerned with riding all of the new rides as we will be back in November to do that. I just think that it would be neat to be there on opening day! How bad does everyone think the crowds will be just trying to get through the new land and the park itself? I have my own thoughts but wanted to get other opinions. I have never visited WDW for opening day or any ride or attraction so doing that seems memorable!! It would be 2 adults and 2 kids. Thanks!

i think it would be an amazing experience to stay for.

the toy story land opening is an extremely popular event coming to disney as hollywood studios hasn't had anything new for a looong time
so i could imagine the crowds being absolutely insane, but if you are willing to stick it out even if it is wall-to-wall, i would definitely go.

I think if you have a good escape plan in case it gets hairy at that park, but it’s worth trying.

We were in the Magic Kingdom on 10/1/2011, its 40th anniversary. It was a little scary getting out of there because the crowd was so huge, but it’s now a fun memory.

It will be crazy, nuts crowded, but I would still do it! Particularly if you don't care if you ride anything or not. We were in MK on a day they had a surprise soft opening for 7DMT and I'll always remember how excited we were to get on the ride - it's just a really, fun memorable experience. Go for it!

I think that we are going to do it. We extended our hotel stay by one night. All of the new ride FP are gone but no worries - we will keep trying.
