We have done the dining plan every other trip. I'm thinking about doing without this trip however. Mainly because I did a breakdown and it looks like, based on where I want to eat, it would be cheaper to pay out of pocket.

I will only be doing a few table service restaurants this trip. It's a solo trip and I'm not looking to eat as much as I normally do. I eat a big breakfast and then a big dinner. With maybe a snack here or there. I'm just not sure that I would get the value out of the dining plan this time.

I will be there for 14 days. I'm also considering upgrading to an annual pass. I'm looking for opinions. Both for and against the dining plan.

If you're not going to do a TS every day, then the regular plan won't work. If you're going to use QS credits for breakfast, you'll lose money on the QS plan. Sounds like OOP will be better for you.

Just to help you break it down. If you count the refillable mug as just a free souvenir, and value the snacks at $5 each, then you need to "spend" $21 on EVERY QS meal just to break even.

Ive done all the math and that's what I'm finding out. If I was going with my son, he can eat, I would do it, but it looks like I'd be better paying out of pocket this trip. Thanks for the confirmation.

I really like paying OOP on solo trips because Disney's lounges are fabulous for solo dining. With the kids, I make ADRs and eat lots of table service (we usually do DxDDP), but on my own I really like hitting places like Trader Sams and Territory Lounge and River Roost for lighter meals in a somewhat more adult atmosphere.

We did the Deluxe dining plan on our last trip and it was sooooo much food. I didn't want to eat another bit for a long time. LOL!! It got to the point where I was dreading the next meal. I'm not a huge eater, my son and his friend were, so I was stuffed by the time the day was over. The boys were another story.

I'm looking forward to trying more adult things and things and places that my son would never eat at. I'm pretty sure that I'm not going to do the dining plan this trip.
