I know we are definately going to US. But unsure of IOA. My ds i know will love superhero island, and my dd's will love all of the Dr. Suess area, but what are your opinions on going with 4 kids, ages at the time will be 11,8,6, and 3. Is it worth going? None of them as of now will do anything that even resembles a thrill ride. My main reason for wanting to go is for spiderman, and the new Trolley ride, but will we enjoy the rest of the park? I don't know
:confused3 :confused3 :confused3
also we are going in november and i'm not sure if it will be hot, i know alot of the rides here are water rides.

I think if you purchase 1 Day/2 parks ticket it will cost you only 20 dollars more. And Spiderman along is worth that 20 dollars. Besides, if I think Jurrasic Park section is suitable for family as well. You will have a river adventure ride which if you could handle splash mountain there shoudnt' be a problem there. The kids will love Discovery Center there watching the small dinosaur was born. The adults could enjoy the meticulous detail of the building that was replicated from Jurassic Park Moive. The shows in Lost of Continet are also family friendly as well. If you only have time to do one, I think Poseidon's Fury is defeintly a must see show. It contains loads of special effects and amazing set design. The cat in the hat in seuss landing is probably another ride to check out for your little ones. It is a very enjoyable ride. If you don't like to get wet you probably want to avoid the toon lagoon. I think the next close thing than jumping into the pool is to water rides in Toon lagoon. You'll get soak. One thing is you cannot purchase a 1day/2parks ticket online. But you could call Universal to buy it.

I was in a similar position when we first visited Orlando back in October 2000.

I thought that IOA would have nothing that would appeal to me (I was a complete thrill ride chicken back then - I'm now just a partial one). I was proven wrong - in fact I was pleasantly surprised. :sunny:

There is a fair mix of different attractions. Popeye and Bluto's Bilge Rat Barges got the vote as the best family ride of the day, and the best rapid ride ever in the history of mankind - as long as you don't mind getting wet. Fortunately the temperature was in the high 80 F - so we dried of quickly (which answers one of your questions about the weather that time of year). It was an absolute scream. :teeth:

Spiderman was brilliant - you'll love it :thumbsup2 Dr Seuss area is mild but entertaining. I agree with hort999 - Poseidon's Fury has impressive effects and the plot has been improved since I went last. Jurassic Park area is also good - like being on the set of the film - flume ride is not as twee as Splash Mountain for obvious reasons.

If you had to choose between US and IOA - I think you'd prefer US. Though I suggest you do both if you can.

Agree with all the responses.

I don't do thrill/spin rides, and I have a wonderful time at IOA. The theming, the music, the shopping, the food is wonderful. I'm always able to go on at least one ride/show in every area. Even waiting for DH while he does the coasters is fun. This is one area where I think US/IOA is awesome. While I wait for him on the Hulk coaster, the super heroes come out and interact with everyone. While I wait for him on DD, there's wonderful, unique shopping right in that area, and a nifty bar/restaurant in a tree.

I would never skip IOA!

I agree too. IOA has something for everyone. The theming in each land is amazing. DS is not quite tall enough to ride the big coasters, but there are smaller, less intense rides that he can ride while others in our party ride the big coasters. If possible, you should definitely go to both US and IOA.

some other things you will all be able to enjoy...both in jurassic park area...the flying unicorn (a small roller coaster for little ones) and the Pteranadon Flyer (a whimsical "flying" ride over the park designed for little ones...you can't even go on this without a child, but all of us enjoyed it. If you do go be advised to go to pteranadon flyer before ANYTHING elso or the line gets unbearably long since there's no express pass for it. Your 3 year old will love the seuss area but the others could get bored quickly around there as it is really designed for little guys. If the weather is warm enough to be wet, the raft ride is really fun and VERY mild, no big drops or speed to it, just a bunch of water all over you! There's also a ship that's like a mutli level playground in that area. Also along the lines of weather permitting water rides....the dudley do right is a log flume that is very mild until the big drop at the end (very similar to splash mountain only wetter) and the jurassic park water ride has the same drop at the end (but if you sit in the back row you wont even get a drop on you). Also near the pteranadon flyer in camp jurassic is a great play area with winding caverns and some fun water guns. It's really a fun place if you decide to go....I might make that decision based on the weather...oh...and just some advice....take a change of clothes and a couple towels. Have fun!
