Trying to decide on building request for SSR

It's been so long since I've been here, I feel like a newbie. After a long hiatus from WDW, my family is finally headed home this October. We've stayed at the Beach Club Villas, the Poly, and the Contemporary, but this will be our first stay at our home resort of SSR. We are booked in a grand villa, and there will be 8 of us. Our group will consist of my husband and I (pushing 50yrs), my daughter and son-in-law (22-25), their daughter (21 mo), our 18yo son, 16yo daughter, and 14 yo son.

Knowing this, and that I am the least mobile of the group (not ready for an ECV yet, but slow and easily worn out), does anyone have a recommendation as to which area/building we might enjoy? Hoping to get pool time with the little one, and know that MK will be a priority for her as well.

The Springs section is centrally located close to the Carriage House/check-in, Artist's Palette quick service, Turf Club table service, Community Hall, Spa, ferry to DTD and the main pool. It's also the last (5th) bus stop before leaving for the parks.

The Grandstand is the first bus stop coming from the parks and some buildings are quite close to the main area (all of the above). This section has golf course views

Congress Park is closest to DTD. This section is the only one with a view of DTD across the water. If you want the view be sure to request it as some rooms do not have it. It's the 4th bus stop.

Carousel section is considered to be the most remote and is the only section without a pool. It's the 2nd bus stop.

The Paddock is the largest section with a new feature pool with it's own quick serve restaurant. There is a bridge across the lake that connects to the Springs. It's the 3rd bus stop.

Thanks. It sounds like Paddock or Springs might be good for us. Of course, my kids want me to try to transfer our points to one of the closer in resorts at the 7mo window. We'll have to see... I can't imagine it would be too easy to get a grand villa at Boardwalk at the 7mo window.

I would imagine you are correct....especially with F&W going on!

There are only seven GV at BWV, so it can be hard to get them at seven months out. And with F&W going on, it would be impossible.

Knowing that the Epcot DVC properties will be pretty full in Oct. because of the Food & Wine festival, I've been thinking of other options to get my party closer to the parks than SSR. Now I'm thinking of splitting us into two villas; my daughter, her husband, and toddler in one, and my husband and I plus our other 3 kids (18, 16, and 14) in another. Wondering if we could get into VGF at the 7 mo window (just a little less than 3 weeks from now). Thinking a 2BR and a studio or 1BR. If that wasn't available, I'd look at AKL or VWL.
