Hi all :) We are going to WDW and are finally going to go ALL THE WAY with Concierge! WOO HOOOO We will be traveling with all 3 of our girls -- ages 9, 7 & almost 3. We will be splitting our ressies ... staying at AsMo for 4 nights, then we want to go be "pampered" for the last 4 nights, since our 13th Anniversary falls in there :) We just aren't sure which way to go. Which is more "child friendly" Poly Concierge or AKL Concierge. It's amazing how we are getting two rooms at the AsMo for less than $800, yet the Concierge is twice that for the same amount of time LOL but it's something we feel we must enjoy now while we can :) Any words of wisdom? Originally, I was all set for Poly Concierge when my 9yo said "OH I WISH WE COULD GO TO AKL AND SEE THE ANIMALS FROM OUR ROOM!" Then dh & I started talking and thought that really WOULD be kind of cool, especially from a child's perspective & big kids like me too ;) LOL Anyway, I am now babbling -- guess I am just so excited that my dh agrees we should do Concierge this trip!!! LOL Now to settle on a PLACE! What's your opinion ... I'd REALLY LIKE TO KNOW :)

Sprinkling Faith, Trust & Pixie Dust all over this message in hopes I can decide SOON! LOL

If you have several kids in strollers, the Poly is more convenient. You can just roll the strollers onto the MK monorail or take a 5 min walk to the TTC and roll them onto the Epcot monorail. It beats folding up strollers to take a bus everywhere.

The Poly! We did it last year with our 3 kids (ages 8,12 & 14). We all loved it. Our room was a water/Castle view. At night the kids would sit on the balcony and watch the water padgant parade & the fireworks. We were on the 3rd floor & the lounge was on the 2nd. The pool area also has the sandy beach which is great for the younger kids. They have the hammocks & swing chairs on the beach as well. I have never stayed at AK so I can't say what that is like., but I can tell you that you won't see fireworks or water parades from there......not to mention that the congierge food and staff were great!!!

Although AKL is supposed to be a beautiful resort I would also have to vote for POLY. It has a beautiful atmosphere is VERY convenient to both MK & EPCOT.

I would stay at the POLY in a hearbeat with my 3 1/2 yr old dd because of the convenience. If it was just dh and I, we might consider AKL but it is a little out of the way and buses are the only transportation options (just like ASM) so if you want to be pampered, need I say more:D Enjoy whatever you decide to choose!

We've done both with a 6 yr old and the Poly wins. While both are wonderful for different reasons, the Poly seemed much more child friendly. While you're at AS, why not go over to AKL for breakfast or dinner, then your DD could check out the animals from the public viewing areas. It was cool to see the animals from the room, but having the MK right across from the Poly was way better. Either way, they are both beautiful resorts!

Even though I've never stayed at either, I would agree with the Poly for the convenience of the monorail and also the other resorts there. I would go over to AKL for dinner also. Have fun!!!!

Put me down for another vote for the Poly--perfect for little ones! the view, the beach, the pool...Sigh! We had dinner at Boma (AKL) our last night there--transportation in and out of there is a ROYAL PITA! We walked to the TTA, took a bus to AK, then another one to the AKL. Coming back, we lucked out big time--the bus driver was SUPPOSED to go to MK, but we were the only ones on (closing time--no one was going there), so he dropped us right at the Poly. Fellow travelers missed that bus, took the next one out, and it took them 2 hours to get back! The AKL is gorgeous, but remote--you don't want to being doing the "bus transfer boogie" with 3 tired little ones! You may want to go out there for dinner one night, though--it is spectacular!

Hands down -- The Polynesian
1) Most "kid friendly" concierge
2) Monorail Resort
3) Volcano Pool Rules
4) Convenience. It is much easier to get to other areas of "the world" as opposed to the Animal Kingdom Lodge.

OK .... truth be told, I went ahead and booked the AKL Concierge, but have decided against it now LOL Boy oh Boy is CRO gonna be THRILLED with me! LOL Already it begins! The big selling point was the CHILD FRIENDLY atmosphere I hear about! While I have no doubt that AKL is just as child friendly, all the reports I have read about Poly Concierge has made many notes about the "kiddie table" and the advantage of the water through the day LOL We've also extended our trip now too ... Can't wait!! Now I have to wait for my DC kit to come so I can re do my ressie just the ONE TIME (I hope! LOL). Thanks all for the great reviews!:D :p :) :jester:
