Chp. 1
Yes, I admit it....I am a Disneyholic. Sadly, my DH is not. He just doesn't "get it" (his own words). I'm hoping that this trip, since it will be his very first time to visit Disney World, will win him over to our side, but I just don't know.
Well, first off, let me introduce you to our cast:
There's me, Courtney (26)
Yes, I am a bonafide princess, just ask my husband!
I am a first grade teacher and am obsessed with all things Disney. My parents were not Disneyholics either so I have only been to Disney World twice and Disney Land once. I'm hoping things will be much different for our family!
There's DH, Dustin (26)
He has never been to Disney, and (gasp) has never really had a desire to go there! Yes, I know. I've tried to get him to visit a therapist, but he insists it's "normal" to feel the way he does! Can you believe that? Normal? Ha! Nothing normal there! Anyway, DH is a "tech nerd" and works for a chamber or commerce updating their website, database, and other "tech nerd" things. He loves his job, but I'm not so sure that I could stand to sit behind a computer all day long and not be tempted to just DIS all day long. When asked about it, he said he "somehow manages". I sensed a bit of sarcasm!
There's DS, Brayden (2)
This will also be his first trip, and hopefully the first of many! I have already begun working on him. If I am surfing the disboards, he will point out a picture of mickey in someone's signature and say "mickey mommy!". DS can be very sweet but he is very high energy and also terrified of loud sounds so I'm interested in seeing how he reacts to Disney. Hopefully, he will love it as much as I do!
This trip there will also be DF and DM. Yes, I know they are not disneyholics either, but I've still managed to con them into coming along with us. They want to see the look on Brayden's face when he sees mickey! There is still a chance that they might back out before the trip, since that is what they do the best, but keeping my fingers crossed that they won't. Guess we'll just have to wait and see!
Well, that's it for now. Can't wait to tell you all about my sleepless nights of planning in the next chapter. Hope I haven't bored you too much yet!
