We are both Aulani and Beach Club owners and love going to Disney World. We thought we try to book Bay Lake Towers 1 bedroom Theme park view for our next trip and can't get more then 3 day's in a week? I checked dates 6 months out and nothing...Is this normal?

I'm not DVC but booking BLT on a cash ressie is equally as difficult. It's the newest DVC at WDW & highly popular.

Yes, unless you're a member there, it can be VERY difficult to get time there. You need to be "on the horn" at the 7 month mark exactly when the phones open. If I really want to stay there and can't get my entire vacation there, I'll split stay. Certain views and certain types of rooms are more popular too. It seems like theme park view and then the studio rooms w/ standard views go first. The first for the obvious reason and the latter for the least points.

Getting standard or theme park view at BLT can be really difficult unless you own there (although 1 bedrooms are typically the last to book). The problem you're running into is the timing of your trip, six months out from right now is the end of September/early October. The Halloween parties at MK and the Food and Wine Festival at Epcot will both be in full swing, making BLT a very popular destination during that time.

Have you tried lake view villas instead of theme park view?

Aside form the fact that you are trying to book only 6 months out during a popular time you also need to factor in the resort inventory.

There are only 133 1BR units at BLT. Of those 133, only a very small percentage are classified as TPV & STD view.

Standards will be below 5th floor. TPV will be 5th floor & above (although there is some discrepancy here), on the front side (outer C) of the building in the Center Tower (although since they did some reallocation some of the north Tower might be included as well). So you are talking fewer than 20 1BR TPV's available to start with at the 11 month window.

BLT has the largest sold rate for DVC of all the resorts, so they are the hardest to book.

One of my office mates bought into BLT when it originally opened for DVC. He was actually unable to book his own resort last year because he waited too long.

I got a lake view studio at the 7 month mark for earlier this month. Theme Park and Standard view were already gone.
