P.S Im sooo excited too!:woohoo:

Hi again..just tried to do a "dry" run...I clicked the "use my DDP" to make ressies...it said I have to confirm...confirm what ? I have my reservation # for WL but it just said to call wdw dine to confirm...should I DO THAT NOW? If i dont want my cc charged?

I'd call. I booked Hoop Dee Doo online; attached my dining plan; got the message that needed credit card guarantee but my card would NOT be charged. Well, a couple of days later that they charged my credit card anyway. I ended up having to call to get it straightened out. Now, I also booked Akershus online at the same time and it is credit card guarantee too. No problems with it; did not charge my card. I don't know what happened with Hoop Dee Doo; but I've learned my lesson. Any credit card guaranteed reservations, I will call in for now.

I've booked both with and without DDP online. For with the DDP it never asked for a breakdown of adults/kids/infants. Just total number of people. Without the DDP it asks for the breakdown and says what the total meal will cost.

Last year I booked CRT online and it charged me - had DDP. Had to call to get it corrected. With Askerhus it's just a credit card charge of $10/person if you don't show up so it won't charge you booking that online. CRT online sometimes won't pick up that you have DDP and if the computer does that you have to prepay for the entire dinner (happened to me last year!). Then the CM has to cancel the online reservation and rebook.

Here is what i did/will always do. I make the ressie with a cc. When i decide whihc DP i will get i call up and ask them to credit the card back and they always do. Works like a charm every time. In fact i already booked CRT for dinner and will call up after i decide whihc DP i am going with

Hmmmm, now when I made a CRT online, the system charged my card IMMEDIATELY. so I called and spoke to a CM - who informed me that she could NOT credit my card even if I wasnted to use DDP because the prepay on the credit card was required NO MATTER WHAT.

:confused3 :confused3 :confused3 :confused3

Forgot to mention that at that point, I cancelled the reservation and although they charged my card within seconds of making the ADR, it then took many days for the system to credit me back.

It was very frustrating... I keep reading that the CMs should have just issued a credit and KEPT my reservation in-tact. Grrrrrrrrrr.

I booked CRT online this morning & I was able to do so w/o my credit card being charged.
I was so glad not to have to call & do it my phone!

I would call and make the reservation over the phone. When I made our CRT reservation online my credit card was charged for the full amount of the meal even though I selected the option to link all our dining reservations to our DDP/vacation package reservation and I thought my credit card information was only needed as a guarantee. I'm not sure if I did something incorrectly but when I called Disney Dining the representative told me that if you have the DDP and want to book meals that require a credit card guarantee that you have to make the reservation over the phone to avoid being charged for the meal. Also, when this happened, I was not able to get a refund processed to my credit card without cancelling the reservation  Not sure if I just got a representative over the phone that didn't know how to process the refund and link the reservation to our DDP. Fortunately, we were able to secure a reservation for a different date and time that ended up working out better for our itinerary than the first date and time we selected.

When I made our ADR's for last year, I was able to do it quite easily online without being charged. When I booked a trip for October this year, I linked my resort reservation but got charged anyway. I was so frustrated......

Anyway, we changed to December and I decided to just call yesterday to make that ADR.

If someone knows the secret to this, be sure to post. I'd sure like to know what I did wrong.

When we were there this past October, I had made the ADR online. My credit card was charged. When we were at CRT they took the charge off my credit card and we used the DDP to pay for it. I didn't like that charge on my card for 6 months, so I called and they reassured me the restaurant would take it off. It was pretty simple, although I would rather not have to use the credit card.

I don't think there is a secret to making it work right. Anytime I've checked online before it wants the credit card information & you can tell they will charge the card...as it will say this reservation requires advance payment. Yesterday though by luck or for some strange reason as I was logged in I clicked on CRT to reserve & it only needed the credit card to put on hold to reserve.

Well I made a reservation early this morning for CRT, for which I had my dining plan linked to and when I checked my bank account, it looks like a couple of $1.00 authorizations were charged. When I called on the phone, the CM said that there is a flaw in the system and their computers are not designed to pickup the fact that you have a DDP. She told me that I was charged over $200 for two adults, a child and a toddler. When you book using your DDP, it doesn't ask you for the breakout of your party, so I was charged for 4 adults. She cancelled that ressie and booked me a new one. When I asked about crediting me, she said to call the billing dept Monday and that it would probably take a whole billing cycle to see the refund. I'm really pissed. Anybody have this problem? I'm hoping that she's just not aware of how things work....

Just to clarify this in my feeble mind:

Does this mean that when I reserved CRT, HDDR, and MM F! Pkg, - which all required cc reserve (& were charged at the 180 day mark when I made the ADR's) that I can't then add them to my DxDDP plan when we eat there - and have the cc credited for the charges?

We haven't yet ordered the DxDDP - were planning to wait till closer to our trip (renting DVC points, so this is allowed).

Won't get the DxDDP if I can't add these...

(And it does seem a shame that we're paying interest on something we haven't had the pleasure of experiencing yet.....)

TIA

There is a box that says "attach my dining plan" or something like that. When it asks for confirmation number, it means the one for your package (usually starts with a number and then has two letters and then some more numbers). One time I couldn't get it to work so I went ahead and just paid for it. It was at 5:15 PM on the night we were doing MVMCP so I wanted it. However, I did use the dining plan when we were there for the meal and I did get a refund.

Thanks, juliebug - that's good to know & makes me feel better!

I will say though if you're really concerned about being charged for it and not getting it to work online, then I would definitely call the dining line. They can check the whole length of your vacation for availability instead of you having to do it meal period by meal period and day by day.

Gretch, yes you can. As soon as you book DxDP, call them and tell them that you want to link reservation to dining plan. If you were charged, they will credit your charge card back.

Btw, my credit card was not charged for the CRT ressie, it's only being used a holder.
