Trying a Side-ways Cabin

Had 5005 last time loved it and the location so much that we book 5006 across the hall (DH really wanted a port hole) and SIL took 5005 this time. Would book again in a minute. :)

After all the praise the sideways cabins have received, we've abandoned our usual Cat 3 for a sideways 11 on a 3-day cruise in October. I truly hope it seems larger than a standard cabin. It's been a long time since we've sailed in an inside cabin; I'm hoping it won't be too 'close.' I may need my veranda!

But we're tough and it's only for 3 days, right?

I went on my first Disney cruise in May of this year and booked a Category 12 GTY because there was a chance that I couldn't go due to work and didn't want to lose any more money than necessary. I was very hesitant and hoped that I might get lucky and be upgraded, and was..........to a category 11 sideways cabin! :rotfl2: I didn't think that I would like it, but wound up LOVING it! So much so, that I've booked the same room again for my upcoming cruise. BTW, we were in 6515, which is forward. :thumbsup2

Oh, and walking down the halls I was able to catch a glimpse at some of the other rooms and ours really did seem bigger just due to the layout.

We've had 3 sideways rooms. I think our very first cruise we had one, but just didn't know the difference. The 2nd cruise the room was different, so not sure which was which. Our '06 cruise we got bumped up from a Ct.12 to a sideways room and it was great w/ a little one. We moved the coffee table between the closet and the bathroom to give us more space. It also had the trunk. On our cruise in May, I requested a sideways room and got 5509. We were right above the theatre, but we weren't really in the room when anything was going on. We heard a little noise, but nothing bothersome. As far as noise from other rooms, never in 7 cruises have we heard anything and we've always had inside rooms.

Have fun!
