Okay, so for our numerous trips to the parks before we used Walker Mobility. We'd never had an issue with them until 2012. That trip was awful. It was worse than awful. It was just ugh.... Had issues with the scooter staying charged for more than an hour at a time. We would have to plug it in any time we stopped to eat. One time, it was so bad we ended up borrowing a charger from the Cast Members at Ohana's.

So, we went last year. I just decided to rent from Disney. Bad mistake. Why? Well, not only are they kind of expensive, but we had availability issues in the parks. Most of the time we would go from one park to another and they were out of ECV's.

So for this trip I decided to rent from Buena Vista scooters. Since we are renting for such a long time, 10 days, they gave us a 10% discount. Decided to get the insurance. So with that it came to $318.

I'm hoping everything goes smoothly with them.

That really does seem like an awful experience with Walker. How did they respond when you contacted them about the problems?

Anyway, Buena Vista is right on-site, on the Boardwalk. They should be able to respond quickly if you h ave any issues.

Regardless of who you rent from, if you have any issue with the rental, contact them as soon as possible.

Walker (or any vendor) can't fix what you don't tell them about.

This is why I advise that folks who rent should keep their rental vendor's information in their "contacts" or "address book" on their cell phone. If you have a space for notes or information, add what the office hours are, and any information you have regarding after-hours emergency numbers & procedures.

The Disney ECVs can be a great solution, but as you found out, it can be tricky to get one at every Park you visit if you are Park Hopping. Prior to owning my own ECV, I liked to rent from an outside vendor so that I would have the use of the ECV at the Resort and Disney Springs as well.

That's interesting. I'd love to hear your comparison of Buena Vista Scooters and Walker. I've rented from Walker twice, both in the last year, and had no problems. However, I was considering Buena Vista Scooters for my next rental for the convenience of them being a Featured Vendor (leaving at bell services) and also because their ECV handles seem more hand friendly. Last time my thumb got so sore from the lever on the scooter, and I noticed a Buena Vista Scooter where the handle looked easier on the hands. So please post a review.

Ok always rented from Apple but with many bad reviews I have rented from Buenos Vista also for my February trip.

Yeah, it was pretty bad. There were a few moments that made me laugh. One was when my husband and son ended up having to push the ECV.... Walker was not very responsive. They brought us a new scooter, but acted like it was our fault. The second one did the same thing. I figured I would try a new company this time.

Oh I did contact them right away. I'm going to chalk it up to getting a bad ECV. I'll just make sure and keep their number in my cell phone so if there are any issues I can call them right away.

I will definitely post a review. The only thing that has me worried is what it says about them getting wet. Hopefully it means soaking wet. Because I do know that when we were there last year it rained some. We were able to stay inside most of the time, but there were times we got hit in the middle of EPCOT. I will make sure and post a review.

I would be interested it read how your experience is. I'd seen the reviews of Apple also.

We have also rented from Walker this past December and had problems with our scooter. I did learn a very valuable lesson to make certain you have the hours the company who you are renting from have someone who can come 'rescue' you if you need it. We also found their customer service not very responsive.

We had rented from Buena Vista in the past and did have a battery that was not holding a charge. They came straight out with a replacement...no problem...

FWIW, In the future, I will be renting from Buena Vista.

Good luck and let us know how everything turns out...I hope you have a wonderful trip!

One trip I ended up with three different scooters from Walker. Second night, the scooter just stopped! dead leaving Buzz and nothing any CM did made it run. It was after hours at Walker, but the CMs, the Poly front desk, and some guests overestimating at the same resort as I were v very helpful. I called Walker the next morning and had a replacement in an hour.

Three nights later, i was leaving Epcot after finishing dinner late, and another guest pointed out that I had a flat. Made my way carefully to the bus and my resort, called Walker in the morning, and they came with a scooter with solid rubber tires :)

Don't know about the middle of the night, but I think Buena Vista is fully open for business until 11 PM daily.

Now I'm worried about the part that says it can't get wet. Because, lets face it, this is Florida and it will rain.... Just wondering if it's the top part with the buttons or any of it. I worry about everything right before our trip....

Girl, you sound like me! I worry about *everything* until I get there! LOL

Would you be willing to let me worry for you? ;) I can easily worry enough for a dozen people, so it's not like it's going to be a big deal for me LOL

Then you just get ready for your trip, and leave the worrying to me! :)

We have gone lots of times during this time of the year - Yes, it *could* rain, but it could also be lovely and warm and sunny with cool crisp evenings, and a 100% chance of fireworks!

(((hugs)))

LOL!! I'm the world's worst worrywart. I worry about things before there's even anything to worry about. It used to drive my husband crazy. It drives my son nuts. LOL!! You are right. And even if it rains, I will be in Disney!!
