Try something new each trip, any ideas?

On my trip next month, we're going to do the following for the first time: Backstage Magic tour and "Dining with a Disney Animal Expert" at Sanaa. Looking forward to both!

My dad, an avid gardener, enjoyed the behind the seeds tour in Epcot a few years back.

We are doing some new things this trip. Going to try marrakesh for one. Just for something new. New resorts for us (vwl and akl).. And want to try the campfire sing along at Fw.

Chicken waffle sandwich at MK is now my favorite thing to eat in WDW. Even ahead of the fruit & nutella waffle and Dole Whip. Crazy, right??

Our firsts for our upcoming January trip are:
- Keys to the Kingdom Tour
- Watching Electric Water Pageant from the beach at WL, where we're staying. (Recent attempts have not been met with success. Please wish us much pixie dust ... )
- Renting watercraft on Bay Lake
- WL tour, hopefully (offered 9am Wed-Sat I believe)
- One night at ASMusic, since I haven't seen that resort yet.
- Monorail pub crawl (possibly)

I highly recommend any of the tours. The ones I've done have been fantastic. Think I've done 3 so far ...

Other suggestions that we've done before:
- AKL free tour of Boma & Jiko, think that's 4pm daily, but check on the AKL thread to be sure
- Sit on the pubic balcony at Kidani and watch animals
- Illuminations Cruise -- highly recommend!
- Drink around the World Showcase, or as many as you think you can handle. Sharing is ok!
- Watch Wishes from the Polynesian beach
- Ask CMs about hidden Mickeys - there are some fun ones in New FL, including a really elaborate Steamboat Willie.
- Ride Dumbo and/or Astro Orbiter without kids. At night.
- Animation Academy!!!
- Become a character stalker: See how many different Minnie or Mickey photos you can get in one trip, for example.
- See the Epcot country films -- crazy how people haven't done that.
- Shop in the Epcot country department stores - Japan is really cool
- Visit First Aid in every park. HA. Seems I'm always doing that ...
- Resort tours! Monorail Resorts are super easy, also Epcot Resorts. If you haven't seen inside Grand Floridian lobby, you have to do that.
- Play mini golf
- See Yehaa Bob at POR - Wed-Sat nights.
- Take water taxi from DTD to Port Orleans Resorts or Old Key West for a look around
- Take launches from MK to Polynesian/GF or to Wilderness Lodge for a look around
- Marshmallow roast at your resort, if they have one. We enjoyed at POFQ last year
- Jellyrolls dueling piano bar at BoardWalk
- Street performers at BoardWalk
- Visit Ft Wilderness and explore - bike rentals, carriage rides, Chip & Dale Campfire Singalong, tons of stuff to do there

We went up in the stationery hot air balloon at DTD.....can't recall the name..it was fun and a new perspective of the World..cost was under $20 each...

Boardwalk in the evening.....

We too are a family that goes every year, and each time we go I like to plan out something that we haven't done before just to keep our trips fresh. For our upcoming trip we are planning on doing a couple new things.
- Staying at VWL (we have stayed at WL a couple of times before but not in the DVC side)
- heading back to BC for a couple of nights (we haven't stayed here since 2009 and we are all very excited to be returning)
- Eating at Monsieur Paul
- Eating at Biergarten (DH and I have eaten there before, but this will be the first for our kids)
- going on the Pirates and Pals Cruise

Other things that I would suggest doing:
- taking a carriage ride at FW (they do this at the POR resorts too)
- renting a pontoon boat....we like to rent one at one of the MK resorts and go around Seven Seas Lagoon/Bay Lake (you can get some really great pictures of MK and the surrounding resorts)
- Play mini golf
- go resort hopping and check out all the different resorts....we like to hop on the monorail and just get off at each stop (minus MK) and walk around the resorts and go shopping at the different shops.
- Go to the campfire at FW, you can roast marshmallows and listen to stories....Chip and Dale come out for a M&G too.

Not sure if you have kids with you or not, but if you don't, no worries all of these suggestions I gave would be great for couples too :goodvibes.

Take the boat from DTD to PO Riverside and FQ. Very relaxing and you can see the treehouse cabins from the water.

My husband and I go to WDW once a year and we try to do something new each year that we have not tried. Last year we took the boats from HS to Epcot, and tried a turkey leg. What are some suggestions of new things to try this year that are not rides?
~I want to experience all of the different holiday's at WDW, just once or twice. :rotfl2: That includes Food & Wine and the Flower Festival, too. And, visit all of the resorts. I know there is much much more, but those are the main things! :goodvibes
