Try something new each trip, any ideas?

1. Take a horse drawn carriage ride out of POR (VERY romantic)
2. Take a private Wishes cruise (I've done this twice, most recently this past July. It is truly a magical experience)
3. Walk around a resort that you wish to visit in the future, and have a meal there
4. Play golf/mini golf
5. Go parasailing
6. Have an adults only character meal (trust me, they can be a blast)!!!
29 trips to Disney World and counting...next stop POFQ 2014

Indoor sky diving in a wind tunnel on I-drive across from Wet and Wild
The Titanic Attraction on I-drive or the dinner theatre there

I second a lot of ideas in this thread. Also,

Behind the Seeds tour at Epcot
Rent the water sprite boats
Get a caricature done, or a silhouette
Pick a Pearl in Japan/Epcot

Our new experiences for January:
* Cirque du Soleil
* Xmas decorations
* show at POR. Is it piano Bob?
* waffle sandwich
* horseback riding at FW

Recent firsts we loved:
* archery at FW
* sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom
* Agent P
* electric water parade

The last time we went our "new" list was:

Waffle Sandwich......yum, we loved it
Hoop Dee Do....so fun, will do it again in a couple years
Drawing class at Epcot...a neat memory and keepsake
Rented Water Sprites....my DS and hubby were not fans but I would do it again
Victoria and Alberts....very expensive but a "once" in a lifetime meal that we will do again someday
Stayed DVC....not sure if we can ever go back without having a closing door between the kids and us
Be Our Guest....loved the castle and experience, food just ok
Water park Day....it was ok
Artist Point....will be back, excellent meal

Heading Back in April and we hope to try these new things for us:
Either a Dessert Party or FP+ For Wishes, normally can't take the crowds at night
Having a "sleep in day" where we just head to a park with FP+ reservations in the evening
Sci-Fi at DHS

Recommendations:
If you have not done a meal at the Poly and gotten the drink served in the pineapple.....do it
Salted Caramel from the store in Germany in Epcot.....so delicious
Monsters Inc. Laugh Floor....we do this at least twice a trip now
Make the kids do Hall of Presidents...it is great
Visit WL....fun stuff to do and see and close to MK
Turtle Talk with Crush
Living with the Land
Wolfgang Puck Express at DTD

A few new things we did this past trip were Cirque La Nouba which we LOVED and Afternoon Tea at the Grand Floridian. My DH was pretty hesitant about both of those things but he enjoyed them a lot!

How was Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom? Is it like the old Kim Possible in Epcot, now I think it's Phinneas/Ferb...

I think with Magic Bands and FP+ all of those things are being eliminated.
all of the musical and street acts are being eliminated?

OP, I agree with a lot of PPs so hopefully I don't repeat too much. DH and I love Fantasia Gardens mini golf (but you have to play the hard side!). What about going on a "drinks around the world" or "dessert around the world" tour in Epcot, or try a cupcake (or two!) from one place in each park throughout the week and have a little "cupcake challenge". Have you done any of the tours WDW offers? They are a little out of our price range but I'd love to do a behind the scenes tour someday! Have fun!

Another vote for the Animation Academy in DHS. We have been giving out Disney figurines to kids in the parks. It is a pain to lug them around but fun to give out. On our last trip we made a point of taking a lot of pictures with the newer characters. We quit doing this as the kids got older but I wanted some newer pics with me!!!!

Goals for our upcoming trip:
*eat at Be Our Guest and see everything in New Fantasyland
*drink around the world at world showcase (but not in the same day)
*see Flights of Wonder at Animal Kingdom
*go to the boardwalk one night and end the evening at Jellyrolls
*eat as many cupcakes as I can find :)
*have an in-room celebration from Disney floral for our anniversary (hopefully my husband will see this, hint, hint)

We love it! My kids each have small books to hold their spell cards. The cards themselves are great souvenirs. It's not at all like Agent P at Epcot, except that it is a game. You are battling the villains trying to take over the magic kingdom. You flash the spell cards to cast spells. If you google it there is a great blog site that tells all about the game. For people that like to hand things out to make kids days magical, I would get card packs for your party and hand a pack to a kid at one of the portals. It's of no cost to you except the time it takes to quickly stop at the fire house or liberty square to get the packs.

Love animation academy like PP said!! My spare room is decorated Disney. I currently have 3 framed sketches. This next trip I will be getting several more, working up to 8. They are great as souvenirs and to see how your kids grow over the years.

This will sound self serving but I enjoy reading articles about the history and design history of the parks (I'm partial to reading about imagineers and I'm an art professor). So each trip we make as a family I focus on one particular area of design or theming. I'll read about it in advance and then spend some time photographing and sharing it with the family.

You'll see in my signature below a link to an article I wrote about the architectural history of Cinderella's Castle.

This year I'm going to spend time looking at all aspects of the design of the Haunted Mansion for a future article.

We loved SOTMK , so did the kids! We have all our cards from last visit! Plus there will be a new MVMCP card this year if you do the party!!! Each party member gets a new pack each day at MK!

We have not done Kim Possible anyone care to elaborate on this?

I vote for Japan pick a pearl too!!!!

Wednesday thru Saturday nights at the lounge at POR, Yee Ha Bob. Shows start at 8:30PM. Get there early for a seat.

Fun family entertainment for all ages.

Found this a few months ago. Definitely going to be our goal to try them all on this upcoming trip!!

We have declared our third trip to wdw as, "our trip of firsts!" We are eating at all new restaurants with no repeats from the last two, staying at a new area the boardwalk that we have never visited before, going to drink/snack around the world, considering a cupcake crawl from the disneyfoodblog, going to do our first four parks one world day, going to ride all rides that we havent before (which isnt too many....but its time we see the country bears and head over to tom sawyers island lol). Also going to catch some of the side shows such as the flag retreat and caseys corner pianist, morockin, etc. My advice is to write down everything you can think of that you havnt done before and then plan from that. Have fun!

  • I'll second the horseback riding at FW - did that in '12 and doing it again this Sept.
  • While over there we are considering the Archery Experience as well.
  • One first for us on this trip will be doing the "Wine Walk" at Epcot WS
  • We've chosen a lot of 1st time restaurants for this upcoming trip. Used recommendations on disneyfoodblog.com and other places to make our choices.
  • Never had a Dole Whip (I know!) so going to do that this time.
  • Romantic Carriage Ride around our resort (POR)
  • If you've never done it, enter Epcot via the monorail for a unique perspective.
  • Almost forgot..... one new thing my DD13 and I are doing for this trip is "disneybounding" (google it if you've not heard of it) We are having so much fun looking at pix online and putting together our own!
