Try 2 Fireworks shows in one night? Insane?

Has anybody tried to get to 2 fireworks shows in one night? I know times for the shows may vary, but I'm wondering if it is really feasible to see Illuminations at 9pm at Epcot, and try to make it by monorail to MK to see Wishes at 10pm? I'm thinking we could just make it, though our viewing spot options would be limited. Is it too much of a hassle to rush? Would be dragging (or trying to keep up with) two 8-year olds. Thanks for any opinions!

Personally, I wouldn't even attempt it...and we don't even have children. Save yourself some stress and catch the shows on two different nights. You have to keep in mind that you'll be battling crowds as you try to exit one park and enter another.

I think there is no way. Everybody is trying to get out of the park at the same time. We tried this in reverse order in February. Saw Wishes at 7:00 and were unable to make it to Epcot to see Illuminations by 9:00. The monorail was just pulling into Epcot as it was finishing. And we had two hours, not one. If you didn't have that stop at TTC maybe you could but even then probably not. Its too bad because the fireworks are the best part of the day for me!

Last September we managed to see Wishes at 8pm then made it to Epcot for Illuminations. We missed the beginning of Illuminations. So it is possible, but it wasn't planned and it was very rushed. I would go and see them 2 separate nights.

We've done it and want do it again unless we are their during low crowd capacity. Talking about total gridlock. When we entered mk we were told to go in thru the back of main street. I'm in a wheelchair and at the level of small children. Small children should not be subjected to this. The air is a little stifling.(sp)

The crowds would be the problem. Here's what I would do. View Illuminations from the France area and then head through the International Gateway to Beach Club to board a bus to Magic Kingdom. If the busses are timed right, you might be able to do it, but there is no way you could get out of Epcot through the main gate to grab a monorail or bus over unless it were a really really slow day IMOP.

Wishes and IllumiNations were both at 9, so didn't try it. If they were 2 hours apart, might have tried it, but NO WAY would we have been able to do it if they were only 1 hour apart. Crowds and stress way too too high!!

What you could possibly do is to exit Epcot just before the end of Illuminations, take the monorail to the TTC, and walk to the beach at the Polynesian to see the MK fireworks. That would eliminate the monorail transfer at the TTC and probably save you time after Wishes to get to the TTC before the mass exodus at the MK. If you are staying on-site, you could catch a bus to your hotel from the TTC. If you are staying off site, you could park at the TTC and take the monorail to Epcot before Illuminations. That way, you could get to your car immediately after the fireworks and beat the crowd out. Whether or not you want to do this with two young children is up to you.

I have done the following.

On the Fourth of July I watched the fireworks at MGM and then power walked to Epcot in time for their fireworks.

I have also done the sprint from Epcot to MK. You need to watch from the area near Future World. IMMEDIATELY walk at a high rate of speed to the exit and board the monorail. Move quickly to the MK Monorail. It can be done, but you will need to keep moving and hope for a little luck on timing! LOL!

I have done it the other way for July 4th from MK to Epcot. Once again you must keep moving and watch MK fireworks from near the exit!

Now I am single with no children. Would I try this with a group? Probably not! LOL!

We are thinking about trying this in June. Illuminations is at 9:00 and then the second Fantasmic at MGM is at 10:30. That would give me about an hour to get from Epcot to MGM. Not sure if that is insane or not. I hadn't thought about walking it, I would probably fall over after walking the parks all day, but that is something to consider.

We've done the 7:30 Fantasmic! then walked over via the Boardwalk to Epcot to see Illuminations. We weren't rushed at all, even had time to stop at the Bakery to get hot chocolate on our way to Epcot.

I've done both Fantasmic (at 6:30) and Illuminations in slower seasons. I was even able to take the sloooow Friendship boat to the Epcot stop. With a 7:30 showing of Fantasmic, you'd have to walk quickly or maybe even use a car between parks.

THANKS so much to all of you! I very much appreciate your comments. Seems the definite consensus is not to try it. My DH will be grateful to you all as I will heed your advice! I will try to chill and not spoil the fun by trying to many things! But I just love those fireworks shows...
