We are going with a 2.5 year old a 7 month old and a 4 year old at the end of September. The 4 year old is completely potty trained, the 2 1/2 year old is not. In case we do run out of diapers about how much do the onsite places charge for diapers? I am not a label junky, I don't care WHAT they are called as long as they keep the pp and poo poo inside! We are staying onsite and are not renting a car to drive offsite at any time during our stay so if we had to we would have to buy from the onsite places. I'm just wondering about how much they are! Also any experiences with the in room cribs provided by All Star Movies? I've read several reviews that said that they were 'flimsy'??
This is going to be our first family vacation and I'm obsessing over EVERYTHING!! I have even typed out a basic itinerary for every day! I just can't wait :yay:

It cost us $9.99 for an extremely small bag of diapers at the WL. Pack extras !!! We were desperate at the time!!! :rotfl2:

Pack extra's -- especialy for the 2 year old .. I had hunt around for his size and the package had only a few diapers in it..... Look at it this way -- you will have room in your suitcase on the return for everything you buy while in Disnay --- My hubby remarked that the suitcase was just as packed even though we used almost all the diapers!!

We had diapers and wipes delivered to our room along with some snacks from gardengrocer.com. Just an idea. At least they would already be there just in case. When we packed for home I found our extra diapers made for great padding for all of our Disney souvenirs :wizard:

It is the same price all around the resort. I think there was 12 or 14 in the bunch I think, it depends on the size. Larger ones have less in it.

We had a car, but didn't want to drive of property.

Pack enough. Oh and be sure to bring swim diapers. :thumbsup2

We have a small rolling suitecase we pack all the extra diapers, and pullups in...OT, but what about baby food? Im afraid to ship it because it might break, but my son might be eating it then..I dont know yet.. :guilty:

Few thoughts...

First, are you taking a car service/cab from the airport? Or ME? If you are take a car/cab you can arrange for a grocery stop. I have also heard of folks shipping boxes down ahead of time. For diapers it should be pretty cheap and you can have it waiting for you when you arrive.

As for your second question - all the resorts we have stayed in provided pack and plays, not regular cribs. They were pretty bare bones versions. Last time we rented a crib from A Baby's Best Friend (www.abbf.com). THey are an Orlando based baby rental place. They rent nice full size cribs. Very clean, they come wrapped in plastic and deliver for free to your resort. They also rent tons of other baby gear (strollers, swings, toys, etc). We were very happy when we used them. JJ

We ran out one day in the park and at the baby care center they had a package of "generic" diapers for very little. I think it was only like $2.50 for the package (I can't remember how many were in the pack, at least 2). The diapers were very nice for not being a name brand and I remember thinking the price wasn't to bad because I did expect to pay a lot more.

We bought an "emergency pack" at the Epcot Baby Care Center for about 3.00. It had two diapers, a small package of wipes, and some diaper cream. I wouldn't pay that at home, but was pleasantly surprised that we didn't "break the bank" when we ran out of diapers in a park (it had been a rough morning).

Many of the restrooms have diaper dispensers for $2 or $3 for one diaper. A package of diapers cost me $8 (but that was 2 years ago). The thing I mostly remember was that they only had size M, which was way too big for my baby at the time, but would have been too small for many toddlers.

On our last trip to Disneyland, we squeezed as many diapers as we could into everyone's suitcase. I just stuffed them in the outside pockets.

Since dd2 just made a potty breakthrough this very evening, we are hoping our next trip to WDW (in Dec) will be entirely diaper-free!

We started a few weeks before out trip making a check mark on a piece of paper how many diapers DD went through for the week, then I made sure to take that amount plus extras. And I packed them in the outside pockets but slipped them into grocery bags first, in case your luggage gets wet due to rain.

If you fly, take double the amount you think you need on the plane, and spare outfits for the kids. We were stuck due to storms out on the runway for 3 1/2 hours once, and I actually had enough I was able to share w/ the woman across from us, as she did not.

I would pack extras. The extra room at the end of the trip after they ahve been used up is room for souvies. This is what we do. I just cram extras into the diaper bag and any other carry ons, plus into every available space in our suitcases. When rolled up they fit in shoes :thumbsup2. Plus the swim diapers.

For the baby food comment, will your baby have just started eating baby food? If so then Gerber has the stage 1 & 2 in plastic containers. It's all fruit flavors but travels VERY well. You don't have to worry about breakage. If you are worried about the lids opening due to air pressure place them in a large ziplock bag. I have done this and it worked fine. When we go to the parks I stick a package or 2 in a sandwhich sized bag with a bib and spoon. It's all in one place when I need it later that day.

Great question!

I've never had to buy diapers at WDW. Our last trip in 2004 my DS was 18mo, but my dad and his wife met us in FL (we flew, they drove). Because they were meeting us on the same day we arrived they brought our stuff with them (diapers, extra wipes, snacks, etc.) It was ideal!

This trip my DD will be 14 mo and in diapers and I am planning on shipping them to the resort before we leave. That way I don't need to worry about the extra space in the cases for now...and I am sure I will have enough. From the posts I've read, I can ship all that stuff to the resort for probably under $15. A month or two before our trip I am going to "log" how many diapers DD uses in a day and then facter in 2-3 extra a day...that way I can ship as many as I need. It might be something you want to think about. I can imagine that off site they probably inflate the prices of diapers too since they are really not something you can live without if your run out.

Good luck!

That is good to know! We are renting a car also and though I plan to ship a box irregardless, the extra space saved by NOT shipping diapers would be a Godsend! Thanks! :thanks:
