I just called WDW CRO to get pricing on the 2 bedroom princess suite at the Polynesian during value season. (We're considering this suite for our trip in 2007 :) )!!!

I asked the CM if there were ever any discounts such as AAA or AP offered on these suites and was told "yes." Hmmmmmmmm. Everything I've ever read said the answer is "no." So, is this just fiction? What are your experiences?

Thanks so much!

I've found that CRO CM's knowledge varies greatly, so I take whatever they say with a grain of salt.

I'd guess that the AP discounts that offer a straight $$ off amount would be applicable to these suites. But I've been out of the mix for a while - do such discounts even exist these days, or is it all that "best price" junk. Also, I had a pin code last year and that would have been able to apply it to such suites, so maybe that's what the CM was thinking about.

You can apply AAA rates and I guess it's possible there could be a chance at some time you could apply AP discounts.

The catch is suites at Disney book up very fast and far in advance so I doubt they ever have any they need to discount.

So what the CM told you was true but the chances of it happening are slim.

Update below to reflect current info.

Do you know this to be true, or are you just guessing? As I understand it, AAA rates work as follows: a certain block of rooms are set aside for AAA discounts - once those rooms are booked, there are no more discounts. Nobody knows how many rooms are discounted, but we do know that they're separated by category. So, it is possible that all the standard view AAA discount rooms are booked, but there could still be plenty of water view AAA discounted rooms available. So, my question would be, how many princess 2 bedroom suites are there at the Poly, and are any of those typically blocked off for AAA discounts?

What was the rate and did it seem possible??? If it does not seem right to you, then it may not be.

To be honest about CM's I can call with a question and ask 3 difreent CM's and get 3 different answers. I had a CM screw up our September trip so badly, I had to change my airfare and reschedule it for a week later. They did not pay the fee to change the flights date either and it was not my fault. That was actualy the worst but I have had some very bad CM's in the not so distant past. So my advice to you is if you get a great rate, make a deposit so you have proof of the rate given to you. I am not sure (maybe someone will know this for a fact) but from what I understand from reading the reservation confirmation...WDW can change the price once a deposit has been made but one it is paid in full they cannot.

I stand corrected Suites are not discounted either with AAA or other Discounts. Concierge rooms are. I check with the DRC on this to make sure.

I was told two months ago directly by someone who workes concierge at the Polyensian that in no way is there ever a discount that can be used on a suite.

That was my gut instinct on the matter. And I didn't really think that the CM I spoke with was correct.

Thanks everyone!

Well I don't know about the Polynesian, but I can tell you with 100% certainty that had a pin code and I was offered a good discount rate on a honeymoon suite at the Wilderness Lodge for last May. (I just took a look at the website though and can't seem to get a quote for a honeymoon suite there - did they eliminate them?)

Issues like the WL Honeymoon Rooms and Deluxe Rooms, CR Junior Suites, GF Honeymoon Rooms, BWI Concierge Deluxe and Garden Suite are discounted from time to time. They really aren't true suites, so I guess that's why they allow them to be discounted. :)
