Ok, I take pride in Disney.... Love the parks, & everything Disney. I am very aware of making sure I leave the park as clean as I found it.... I am noticing after parades, shows, fireworks..... People leave mounds of garbage?! What's up with that? I hope none of us dis'ers are doing that ;)

I always make a point of placing all my trash in the trash brings. I have even gone as far as making my son go back to pick up some little piece of whatever had fallen out of his pocket once..

That's a pet peeve of mine. We own a movie theater and people think that just because they pay a ticket price, it entitles them to do anything they want (leaving trash, feet on the seats - which breaks them, talking on cell phones, etc). We always make it a point to clean up after ourselves no matter where we go - whether it's Disney or a restaurant (yep, I straighten up the table as we eat and by the time we leave, there are usually only our glasses sitting there) and we've taught our boys to do the same. It's just common courtesy.

When my kids were little I would even crawl around under the dinner table at a restaurant and pick up the bits of food they dropped. I cannot stand to have people think we are ungrateful, and I would never raise my children to BE ungrateful. They are now old enough to clean up after themselves, and they do. People should take pride in Disney. They probably feel entitled and think leaving behind junk is acceptable b/c they pay so much to be there, so they expect Disney to have to clean it up. I am sorry, but I SOOOO disagree with that! I like to leave places cleaner than they were when I got there. I think it shows appreciation and respect. I raise my children to understand that and to act accordingly.

It makes me so sad when people don't put their trash where it belongs. Doesn't matter where I am. But when I'm in Disney its especially upsetting. WDW is like paradise to me (maybe better) and who would want to taint paradise.

When I'm walking around the parks I'll even pick up other people's trash (not the dirty kind) with a napkin and throw it in the trash.

I'm inspired by this story. A person was walking in the Magic Kingdom when they saw a gray-haired man walk out of his way to pick up a piece of litter. They approached the man and asked, "How many custodians are there here?" The man replied, "45,000". The guest was surprised at so many.

The next day the group attended a "Traditions" meeting and the same
gray-haired man was there. His name was Michael Eisner, Chairman and CEO
of Disney. They asked him why he had answered such a large number and he responded that every cast member takes pride is keeping WDW clean.

Last year while we were in AK, we went to a show and you know that they ask that no food or drink be taken in. Well, there were about 15-20 people sitting just behind us and my DGD made several comments before the show started that those "people" were eating and tossing stuff on the floor. Well, after the show was over, and we turned away, the people not only left the food that they dropped/ threw but, all the papers!!! There was no way we could even start to pick up their mess..so sad, that is one reason we pay the price we do and that is why they have to have all the custodians!
