True Blood: Season 1

Well, I like racy...should read some of what I write.:snooty: I don't consider my stuff graphic at all. I'm careful so my stuff isn't labeled porn, but I do enjoy a good lovemaking scene. :rolleyes1 Nora Roberts stuff if you know what I mean. Anyway, I'm excited now. I have 3 DVDs to arrive on Wed and True Blood will be the first I watch WITHOUT my 2 year old son in the room. popcorn:: Vampire porn....NICE! :rotfl2:

Thanks everyone for the reviews. I'll save the books for later.

I read the books AFTER seeing season one of True Blood. I loved them both. However, I loved the show so much that I decided I'd better read the books before I see season two, so I don't get too far behind.

You and me both!! I've been wanting to see the 1st season but I don't have HBO and wasn't spending $50-$60 bucks to buy it. Well, it went on sale a while back for $17 so I figured, what the heck, and bought it. Saturday I finally was home and had time to put it on. I had the baby (1yr old) in the living room with me and DD6 was in her room. OMG! I've never ran so fast to turn something off in my life when she decided to come see what mommy was doing. :scared1: My remote never seems to work when I need it to. So it was put back into the case for me to watch when the kiddos are in bed. I almost feel like I need to hide it away like its porn:rotfl:

It's definitely rated R!

Thanks, I'll visit and post after I watch the first few episodes.

Yes, do watch some episodes first. We DO post spoilers. That's one of the fun parts of the thread. Being able to talk about what happened, what we think will happen. :hyper2:

Skim past the book spoilers, too. Some don't apply as the showed changed a lot of book parts.

And don't worry about joining in only having seen a few episodes or wanting to discuss the first ones again. The show is like crack. We discuss anything having to do with the shows & books. :woohoo:

Apparently I am in a forced rehab, because I'm having some serious withdrawals from my "crack" addiction. They even tried medical detox and it just hasn't worked. Don't tell my sponsor, but I've been sneaking a hit now and then ON DEMAND. Guess I better turn in my 3 month chip......

I'm Monica, and I'm a Bloodaholic (aka:Trubie).

I really want to start watching this show! I've heard its excellent. I know its about vampires, but is it very gory and graphic? TIA! :)

Yes, it is very gory, and very explicit when it comes to the sex scenes. Violence and sex - definitely not for the under 17 crowd.

Thanks for letting me know! I do know how explicit HBO can get with sex scenes because I watch Big Love, but that's not gory. I'm not very good with that type of stuff so I think I'll pass...

Well, I wouldn't say it's at all as gory as, say, a R-rated slasher flick. It has had it's moments, but overall, there isn't a big amount of gore (lots of blood, but usually that is flowing when one of the vamps is doing the deed with a human- they like to take a little sip during sex). If you are bad with ANY blood, TB might be too much- but if you are OK with it, you can make it through the brief gory bits. The show is worth it, I promise!!

I think I will give it a try...(during the day) :teeth: I really haven't heard one bad thing about the show, so it may be worth closing my eyes during the gory parts!

Thanks. :)

It's coming today from Netflix!! :cool1: I'm going to be watching my mailbox! I have to be to work at 3:45, so hopefully, if DS is napping I can get in the two episodes that are on each disk. I only have one disk coming right now. :goodvibes If DS is awake, I'll just watch it tonight when I come home from work! CAN'T WAIT!!! :woohoo:

THAT'S IT!!! I'M ADDICTED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! LOVE, LOVE, LOVE TRUE BLOOD!:woohoo:

Gonna move the next disc to the top of my queue in Netflix! LOVE Bill..he's very hot! Sookie isn't bad either. Weird seeing Anna Paquin in the roll...so used to her as Rogue.

And yes..it is VERY graphic sexually...but I don't mind. ;)
