Trouble with Southwest??

Please do not change the default font/color. Your post is extremely difficult to read.

There will be many hiccups and changes with the merger of Southwest and AirTran. Don't expect things to always go smoothly.

why not? higher expectations can raise the bar ;)

In the past I 'depended' on AT to change their flight times. would book the cheapest flights we could live with then wait for the time to change. Even if just a few minutes, never had an issue calling & indicating I wanted on the primo NS. They would even let you move it a day or two pre or post the original date as long as there was availability.

Have yet to be in a situation where WN has changed my flight time to the point where it has inconvenienced my plans, but would certainly give it a go to request the flight I wanted vs the one they arbitrarily chose for me.

Curious if there is any sort of right of rescission period in place for those who verbally accepted a re-assigned flight time, then determined that the new one didn't work for them as to their other travel plans already in place.

Has anybody tried this /\ ? :)

To OP- press for what works for you and your family. My expeience is that SW has the best ustomer service and will try to work with you. I gave up status with US Air because I hated their customer service. I fly SW a minimum of 8 times a year and have never had a flight changed or cancelled except on day of for an AirTran leg. I hope ths is a temporary thing with SW because of the merger.

Edited to add that I just checked 4 flights I currently have booked and they have not been changed so far. I don't mind my business flights changing but don't touch my MCO flights!

This thread is almost one month old. I would assume that OP has resolved the issue, ;)

good to hear, had been wondering, as the merger gets nearer to completion and they start to fully integrate the schedules, how much they will change existing flight times (and what their policy will be as to re-booking/cancelling) as the departure date approaches. Seems to be a recent spate of changes on SWA.

lol I'm the same as to our flights to MCO. Normally, I'm hoping for an equipment delay and even volunteer for bumps but since we often just have a short period of times in the park, I want to squeeze all the fun out I can in a few days.:goodvibes

OP...could you go ahead with the kids in the morning and then have DH take the later one that fits his work schedule?
