My Ipod Mini won't play through any of the songs that I downloaded on itunes. I have the extended warranty, and I've only had it a few months. I know that they had a lot of problems with the mini and they don't make it anymore. Anyone else had this same problem with their mini? Did you exchange it for a nano?

we have 2 ipod minis and we never had problems with ours and they close to a year old. I know here in georgia, there is an apple store in one of the malls you can take them and they will either fix it or exchange it

Go to the Apple/ipod website. They give you ideas for troubleshooting. Sometimes it's something as simple as just re-setting it.

My son's mini broke just before Christmas. He had it one month. It was running, but no sound was coming through the headphones. We tried different headphones, and it still didn't work, so we knew it wasn't that.

I went to the website, read through it, and filled out a form for repair. They immediately sent us a box with label, and we called DSL to pick it up per their instructions. The next day we got an email from Apple saying that they received the ipod. It took a couple of days, and they sent us another email saying that a new mini was on it's way. Again, the next day it was at our door.

It cost us absolutely nothing. Not even shipping! I'm really impressed with Apple. My husband was in disbelief. He thought there was no way they'd just give us a new one.

Be careful about putting it in your pocket or in a backpack. They are sensitive.

I think what happened to Eric's ipod is that he left the headphones plugged into the mini, and it got thrown around in his backpack, because the casing (is this the right term?) where the headphones go in was bent.

Ok I'll check the apple site. I've been very very careful with it, I don't even have a backpack and it's done this before but usually when the battery is very low, now the battery is fully charged and it's doing it again so I don't know but I'll check apple.

If the problem is only with songs you have purchased off of Itunes, then have you authorized those songs? After I bought songs I had to play them in my Itunes first, then it asked some questions and it took a couple tries before it would play on my mini. And it will load them into a seprate purchased music folder, i was only able to copy them to the mini after they had been played on my pc first.

Good Luck.
