Not sure where to post this so thought I would try here!

We went to WDW in December and the night before we checked out I transfered all our Disney Visa Reward points to our Rewards card. I then went to the front desk to have them apply those points to our bill before our credit card was charged the next day. No one at the desk (ASMo) seemed to know how to use the Rewards Card. They had no idea how to apply it to the bill, or how to even verify the points available on it. (I asumed it would just be used like a credit card, and scanned through a credit card machine) They "took my word for it" on how many points were on it, and, I can't remember how, they recorded the Reward Card information. But they applied my points to the bill and everything seemed fine the next morning.

Now tonight DH was checking our Disney Visa balances and such on line and saw that we still have all the points on our Reward card--I called and verified with Bank One that Disney never charged the points. We have also verified that Disney hasn't charged our credit card for those "dollars".

I will try to call Disney billing tomorrow to straighten it out, but am wondering if anyone has had a similar experience? I was amazed that the hotel staff didn't know how to deal with the card, that long after the program had started (I know I wasn't the first to use a Reward card???!!!) How do you usually use the card when you are at the World???

I hope you get it all straightened out.

We used ours for the first time last year, we had just opened our account so there werent many points on it. but we did use it for a nice meal at Marrakesh and we gave it to our server when our bill came as we would with a traditional credit card. Our server returned with our receipt, where we had to sign. We had 20cents left over on the card. I am almost certain the receipt stated what we used adn what was left on the card.

For our upcoming trip, we have accumulated a nice total (and the carry over of last years 20 cents) so we will be using it in more than one place. ;)

Lovetoscrap, we too were at WDW in December (Coronado Springs) and did exactly what you did -- transferred (by phone) all points to our card and then the next morning went to the front desk to use the Rewards Card to pay for our resort expenses. It worked like a charm for us and the 2 CMs at the desk both knew exactly what to do with the Rewards Card. In addition, we used our Rewards Card at several WDW locations -- shopping in various WDW gift shops, Brown Derby, Flying Fish -- and all CMs were well versed on the card. I'm sorry you didn't have the same luck. Hopefully your next WDW trip will be easier!
